Also, did you add your edited db file to the Converter folder? It should read squads1.db.

Also again, I used Fidel's squad save file as a base, in order to get the Converter working for FIFA 18. If you are still having problems, you could try the same process, but use Fidel's squad save file and copy/rename that, rather than the one from your game. I doubt that's the issue, but who knows.

Ok I think I have managed to resolve it with the way you have mentioned.

Ive now tried to mod a database again, and then convert it to a squaf file, then place in the settings folder to use in game, but it keeps popping up with the message that the database appears to be damaged and it needs to be deleted..

I believe I have cleaned up all of the tablets, but what could I be missing?

You need to make sure the Converter is in fact working. Like I said, I can't test it myself, I'm only going on someone's word that he was able to load my converted file.

Download either Moddingway's db files, or Fidel's squads file. Export the tables, use Excel to edit one thing (change all players to 1 agility is easiest), then import back, and convert the edited db file using the Converter. Then see if that squads file opens in your game.

I used both. I used Moddingway's db to export and edit the tables. And I used Fidel's squads file as my squads1 and squadsdefault base files in the Converter.

I am going to keep playing around with it and see what I come up with with a simple mod to start with as you said. Just seen that some people have been successful at adding players in, so wanted to try it but its not worked as of yet.. I must be missing the table clean up somewhere as I am using a DB that has added the journey players in and that seems to be working perfectly. I edited it, try to convert it back using the same process, then it just pops up with the message that the database is corrupt when I start the game..

Do you think it would be the db-meta xml file I am using?

Cleaning up the bogus table values will not make a difference. My FIFA 17 converted db worked fine with all the bogus table values in it. I didn't notice them for 2-3 days, until I tried to create a player in-game and found out the db (Moddingway's) contained 100+ created players all rated 0. I guess he does that to prevent people from stealing his work and using his db as a base for their own mods.
I can't imagine why, but you should start with M'Way's db and meta files.

If you want to upload your files (including a copy of your squads save in FIFA 18/settings), I will convert and upload it for you to try in your game.

    @bangus
Let me know if you get these.

Just trying to add in Pato, as I said, then maybe attempt to change 1 formation to incorporate 3 CAM positions which has worked before.

Okay... I have been using MWay tool to edit players, refs, etc. with zero issues UNTIL I edited a formation in-game, and then tried to convert the file. That caused a glitch in my file. It seems dbm/the converter didn't like my using the in-game formation editor, so now I edit my formations via the db tables only.

Pato db converted, try this, I lowered all players to 1 agility to see if edits show up. You may have to go into customize/load squads, to make such the edited squad shows up in-game (if you even get that far).

Ok this is now loading so thank you very much, but it actually hasnt added Pato into the game.. ha. Its taken the formation and the other players.. What did you do differently? Was my tables cleaned properly or was something missing?

    Edit:

Ive just attempted to play a kick off game and the game just crashed at the stadium then turned off.. any idea?

Try the other files, the problem might be that the converter (my fix to change it to work with FIFA 18) doesn't actually work.

Yes the original file with the journey players just added in is still working.
I have noticed that there is a formation in the list for both that you have sent that is corrupt. Do you think that this would impact these files?

Yes, it would affect the save. As I said, the one time I used the in-game editor to change formations, it corrupted my FIFA 17 save when I used Moddingway's converter. I can move players around from team to team using the in-game transfer editor. I can change their ratings and jersey numbers using the in-game player editor. But I couldn't edit formations at all without having issues after converting.

You may be able to simply import the original unedited formations and default_teamsheets tables into the Journey db, and fix the issue. That might work.

I will do that right now with the files I have and upload, I will also change agility ratings back to default so you can maybe use the file.

Journey squad save with formation tables replaced and agility ratings at default, hope it works. Just to be safe, I added two other formation-related tables that are in the original db files that Moddingway posted, but that don't show up otherwise when exporting the tables from other dbs (have not figured out why that is).

Thanks for doing this, but I actually got the pato DB to work. I also found him as well but he wasnt actually under his name which was throwing me off. I could see him in the database under his ID, but he was called something like T hong..
I also sorted the formations as well, as the table had some values at thebottom that obviously corrupted it.

I managed to play a game with the database after this, and with the new formation, so all seems to be working apart from his name. I will see if iI can use the datbase to edit his name to what it shoudl be...

Whats the best way to restore the agility values?
