    Which parameter in product.ini edit in order to make user tackling harder? In default fifa gameplay it is hard to tackle the ball, in the final V1 patch it is a bit too easy. I would like to make it a bit harder but only for user, not CPU.

    Bangus, can you post all this in this thread if Andrea does not mind it, because me to want to slow down things a bit, and i understand that its only possible via editing player stats concerning the speed and agility of the players!?

    If you want to get a quick idea how the game plays with slower player movements, edit the fifa_ng_meta-db file inside the db folder.

    Open the file with Notepad. Use the Find function and type in "czum." The second czum you come to is the squads/players table. It's there you can set the max/min parameters for any player stat. Example: edit the sprintspeed rangehigh value from 99 to 59, and the most any player's sprint speed rating will be is 59. Set agility and accel as well, or any stat you wish. When done, save the file, then load the db in CM 12. Once it's loaded in CM 12, save again, that will activate your new edits.

    I'll post some other methods in a bit, I'm kind of busy right now. (Y)

    Absolutely, I'm editing the czum right now for agility alone. I feel that is first priority to avoid "ninja dribble" as you mention :)

    Other easy way to avoid "ninja dribble", open product.ini and search for line:

    SKILLS_SPEED_DRIBBLER = 75

    reduce it to

    SKILLS_SPEED_DRIBBLER = 25 or below

    regenerate

    Fab tip! Rob or anyone who knows, why set it to 25? What affect does 25 have? Why not set it to 0 for example?

    Okay, the proper way to edit player ratings is using Excel to lower all values in a column by a set value or percentage. It's very easy to lower or raise ratings by a set value. Say you want to lower every player's agility rating by 30 points:

    1. Open the players table in Excel. Click on the empty rectangle in the top left of the table (above the number 1 and to the left of the letter A), to highlight the entire table.
    2. Click on the Format tab, top right. In the dropdown menu that appears, click Autofit Column Width. This allows you to clearly read all column descriptions.
    3. Click on row 1, top left, and highlight the entire row. Now click on the View tab, top left. A new menu of options/tabs will appear. Click on the Freeze Panes tab. In the dropdown menu, select Freeze Top Row. This will lock the row and keep the top row descriptions visible, if and when you scroll down the various columns. When done, click on the Home tab, top left, to go back to the default view.
    4. Find the agility stat (column I). Click on the column I tab to highlight the entire column.
    5. Click on the Sort & Filter tab, top right. In the dropdown menu, select Sort Largest to Smallest. This will arrange agility ratings from... largest to smallest of course. Note: This step isn't entirely necessary when lowering ratings like this, but it's a clear way to easily see that your edits in fact do change.
    6. Now scroll to the right, all the way to the end of the table, and find the first blank column (column CX). In one of the empty cells, type in the value 30. Right-click on that cell and select Copy.
    7. Scroll back to column I. Now here's the tricky part in all this, so follow closely. Highlight all the values in the column, starting from line 2, all the way down to the last player (player 14,470 or so). Again, make sure you only highlight the cells with values in them. If you simply highlight the column by clicking on the column I tab, Excel will add hundreds of thousands of extra cells with values in them to that column. Let's just say you don't want that!
    8. Right click anywhere on the highlighted column. In the menu that appears, select Paste Special. A Paste Special box will appear: select the Operation/Subtract option. Click OK. Presto, all values should instantly lower by 30, right before your very eyes. If not, either you did something wrong or I'm bad at explaining, ha!

    Now scroll down to the bottom of column I and you'll see a number of agility values have been lowered to either 0 or a negative number. You now need to correct that. 1 is the lowest value any rating can be lowered to.

    1. Repeat Step 5, and type in the value 1 in an empty cell.
    2. Highlight the affected cells in column I (any agility values set to 0 or lower).
    3. Repeat Step 7, only this time when the Paste Special box appears, select the Operation/None option. This will fix the affected cells and assign a value of 1 to all of them.

    There is a formula in Excel that allows you to set minimum parameters when lowering cell values. Meaning, it's possible to set things so that no value in any cell drops below 1. That's another whole long explanation, maybe for later. And finally, before saving the players table and importing it back into the db, make sure you delete the numbers 30 and 1 that you typed in the empty cells in column CX.

    Bangus, with all your tips I've improved game-play. After watching many games (CPU behaviour) I can tell that reducing SKILLS_SPEED_DRIBBLER does not affect much, marking is more effective but not for skilled dribblers, personally my setting is in 10 which provide a more soft realistic movements.

    Thanks again for your tireless contributions! :)

    Regarding ball effects it seems the ball has to much air resistance in FIFA12, so to make it more loose or unpredictable, you might add following line where the ball lines are:
    ADDITIONAL_ROLL_SPIN_MULTIPLIER = 5.0 // between 4.5 and 6.5 you'll get good results IMO, but you can try if you want

    So, if you reduce SKILLS_SPEED_DRIBBLER you also need to move CPU/user customization settings "Pass Speed" slider down to around 40 in order to have soft movements, that compensate by the roll spin mentioned above

    Bangus, your the man, and im so stupid, i edited this way the team shot frequency, and because of my stupidnes i did not realize that i can do this with player agility also, thank you very much, and many thanks to Robalex with his tip to change "SKILLS_SPEED_DRIBBLER"!?

    Bangus, i have one more question, is there any way to lower the stats by percentage (%), i think that that way is more realistic, like lowering all agility for all player by 25%, because if i lower everything by 30, as you said some play will go in minus, and then i must edit them to raise their stats, so that way their stats are not lowered by 30, they are lowered by different number (below 30) so that the stat will not be below the 1, and with that there is a curve, worst player will have smaller deductions then better players, so if there is any way to lower it by percentage it would be superb, thanks in advance!?

    PS: One more question, as DM Master 12 works with FIFA 13, i presume i can do this with FIFA 13 also?!

    Actually, this has nothing to do with the speed of dribbling.
    This is a trait, and the higher the value the more the player with that trait will use it.

    Ninja dribble can be nullified by doing this enable_avoidance = 0 and lowering agility slightly.

    I assumed that you will, but its just additional work and its already done, of course if "rique" don't agree to alter his DB and so on, it completely another story!?

    PS: I see that your not a lazy type, not like me, so that is why im suggesting this, if you like to have your own DB its just a plus, as then we would have more different DB to chose from, so respect and kudos for that!?

    I'll release certain tables in the DB, so that way you don't have to use my whole DB if you have a different one installed.
