in mine whole prem. division is rich, but almost whole spain including Real Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Sociedad are/were in debt

Comment on Whitbread: In reality, he turned down a callup to the USA U-21 team. Apparently he wants to play for England or something but I heard he isn't good enough.

Yeah, he's gonna be in the Engl U21's soon I hope, he is still young and when I saw him in a reserves match he looked like a decent player at the age of 18. I think USA would've been a better choice for intl football and they don't have as many solid defenders, but it would've meant a lot of travelling!

I think he would probably have a better opportunity to play more International games if he had decided to play for the USA. Getting a squad number from a club like Liverpool is good enough to at least get a chance.

As for traveling, it isn't a big deal. If a guy gets a call-up, they are going to make the trip. The South Americans playing in Europe have way longer trips for International call-ups so it isn't a big deal.

I suppose :S

But as you say, playing for a good club ( :rolleyes: ) will hopefully get him spotted. More of a chance than if he played for AFC Wimbledon! (H)
