Interested in doing some more National Team Kits?

Hey August Another questin for yuo ... How can I keep my logos looking good when i make them so much smaller? I get very poor quality on badges after i resize them down.

hmm. strange. it's five years i last worked with paintshop but i remember it to be quite similar to photoshop. usually scaling down should improve the quality (except of very small differences between original and final scale, let's say you scale down 2%). maybe there is an option in the program?

did you know the countries in the last sentence of my last post?

not a single one... I would guess Al-misr would be somethihng along the lines of Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia etc.

it's egypt, china, jordan, south korea, finland and croatia.
saudi arabia is "al-mamlaka al-'arabiya as-sa'udiya" (!), while iran and iraq are absolutely the same.

I should have known Hrvatska... their Abreiviation used to be HRV or something like that ... i don't remember any longer.

I've decided I'll probably start looking into some of the "First Order Administrative Areas" around the world... I am gonna try to find a few that are somewhat restless and may seek sovreinty in the future. I'll probably make kits and add them to my game for later years... depending on the region...

Woah... this might get you slapped. Read this on Yahoo news... a T.V. Station aired a program declaring that Flanders had declared independence from Belgium. The presented it as Truth and didn't flash a "this is fiction" messege until about 30 minutes in.

I had no idea that Belgium was so unstable... or could potentially be so unstable...

I read that, too. I don't think belgium is really unstable... but you're right, it wouldn't have been that shocking (and believable to so many people) if the question of separation was completely out of people's heads.

i've found that chechnya has a national team, it's the only russian republic that has one (seems logical). i also found south lower saxony (Südniedersachsen, a region in germany i have never ever heard of as a "special region") has it's own national team which is remarkable since there are no other national teams inside germany, not even bavaria.

I read that, too. I don't think belgium is really unstable... but you're right, it wouldn't have been that shocking (and believable to so many people) if the question of separation was completely out of people's heads.

Yeah i knew about those both but they don't play very often that's why i never made kits.

i wouldn't even know what to do with a team like south lower saxony. the existance of this team is absurd enough.
chechnya, though, is quite interesting. depending on what will happen politically, this could be in some years an afc member.

They'd probably be given the chance to apply for UEFA membership... Though i am a little rough on their exact location in russia.

hmm, they are neighbours of georgia, so locally they'd be european. but like israel is in uefa because of the arabic countries, chechnya could be in afc because of the russian countries.

pure, wild speculation! what are we doing here?

You may be right, you seem to know a bit more about their geography and political issues, etc.

I'm going to make a few designs to kind of make as i guess you would call a "Liio design"... as in Adidas has one design, Puma another... or maybe 1 or 2 ... i'm gonna make a few for myself and use those for the remaining teams... I plan to make some parts optional? as we've seen with kits like Puma... teams can choose to color them in or not... etc. anyway. My wife is gonna help so i hope to come up with a few that should work well for these teams we're talking about.

cool, i wish i had a wife that makes kits, too

i'm still thinking if i should add non-fifa teams. i really shouldn't... i mean i like to play matches that aren't the "big deal", i don't need champions league and world cup all the time but it's nice to play a team that could at least make it. i just made my first non-fifa team for 07, guadeloupe, but that team at least plays with the others in caribbean cup. but teams like kosovo, aaland islands, guernsey, catalunya and teams from regiens i never heard of (where is this "fröya"? i know a bit of scandinavia and still don't know it). and if you see pictures from the matches that those teams play... it IS a bit of a dull atmosphere if that's the word i'm looking for...

but then, i look at the beautiful flags of dagestan, komi and chechnya... maybe i'll make a few russian teams. could be fun to make some fantasies.

Fröya is in Norway... Where I cannot remember I'm trying to find an article on it now.

What I would suggest with the Unaffiliates is this: Research some tournaments they participate in... like the VIVA world cup, the ELF cup... Guernsey, Isle of Man, and Isle of Wight. Play in some sort of a tournament along with i think Alderney... I don't know much about it yet but what i would do is add those tournaments and those teams only... and probably add them as a different league entirely. That way if you get tired of them, you can just remove them from the GUI and add them back later (at least you can in '06... new year new programs, i got no clue about '07). At the moment I have no unaffiliates in the game besides the ones in CONCACAF, East Timor (affiliated with FIFA not AFC) Montenegro (SHOE IN!) I have removed all of the others temporarily. For use later down the line.

I'm glad to hear you are getting hooked though. Unaffiliated football is really it's own thing. And many of the teams are competative with some of the teams your national team might play... well maybe not yours but...

I'll read it later though lol... By the way, my wife doesn't make kits, but she's got a good eye... so she often gets "is this centered?" questions... she's gonna help me decide which designs to keep and which to throw out entirely.
