I don't have the time for kitmaking at the moment, but i can give you the mali kits i'm using, i had worse pictures so i could see the colours but not the kit sponsor. i made them nike but apart from that it's correct :)

Those are fine with me, thanks alot! Though if you do get time in the next week or so a goalkeeper kit would be great. If not, its very much OK. Thanks again

Hey august, i have a quick question.

If i decide to buy fifa '07 in the near future, any chance you would lend me your database since you've gotten such a great start on the national teams?

I don't know exactly how we might transfer it, (might have to host the file somewhere) but if possible i'de really like to do that.

I keep thinking, with all of the kit converters rinaldo makes, and the creation master coming out in only a couple of weeks last time around, we could probably get an up to date fifa DB with national teams released every year within maybe a month of the games release, that is compatible with creation master (i assume CEP '07 isn't). but either way if you wouldn't mind i'de like to use yours as a starting point if I do upgrade and would be willing to return the favor however possible.

Of course. It's german, and some things you maybe would have done different.... :)

i've read about creation master that it's possible to use 06 teams in 07. if that's true, this might be a better option for you, beause i only have 170something national teams and a lot of them have no player names. and every graphic file i have exchanged will be missing in your game, including all kits, adboards and logos, and some flags.

cep is compatible with creation master, as far as i understood it the database is still encrypted but creation master can work with it.

BAH GERMAN!

i totally forgot yours was in german... although I might just change the team names and a few player names to english and use it anyway ... my commentary is always off... who knows, maybe.

Also if you send me your entire data file i'll have all flags adboards logos kits etc etc. pretty much everything.

Hey, german's not so bad. I know especially you americans love german, even use it: kindergarten, glockenspiel, schadenfreude, fußballweltmeisterschaft, klofußumpuschelung...

Back to topic, remember the entire data thing is huge... more than one GB!

something else, where did your career mode thread go? Did you delete it? You planned to create a career mode for national teams, right?

Yeah i don't remember ever posting that though. But i did do it.

I actually am gonna go back and redo it. I'm setting each team to about a 4 or 5 team "league" which stand in for the friendlies that each national team plays in a given year. Then i'm condensing the entire 4 year cycle to 1 year (maybe 2). I think i'll set each tournament apart from one another so you do your confederations championships, followed by the confederations cup, then begin the world cup qualifying and lead into the world cup itself.

There will be a ton of leagues, and still some promotion and relegation (maybe 1 team)... and your starting position in the confederations championships or sub championships (like the caribbean cup) will be based on your position in your confederations league system.

It's a lot of trial and error and the game freezes if anyone plays games during the transfer window, so everything is restricted to february - may, then october - december. so i think i'll end up doing 1 year split into 4 quarters.

I have to do some more work on it to see exactly how well it will work but i think i can split it up so everything does work out properly... but it will take a lot of time.

The maxiumum number of players on a squad in 06 is 28. So in an effort to learn more about some of the teams and to get my rosters as accurate as possible I decided to go on bigsoccer and ask the fans to select a 28 man roster for their team. I figure if you want the most accurate information, ask the guys who live for this stuff. I started with the french national team and the responses there were great. Here's the link:

http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=457892

I thought u and nazzy might be interested in taking a look. I know you guys use different ratings than me but it might help provide a basis for your french rosters.

I'm going to select the american team myself. As I'm sure august would do with germany. But i did start a thread a few minutes ago for the german national team too. I hope the results are as good. I'll provide a link to that as well should you be interested.

I'm gonna do this as often as I can, to get the best answers as possible. Obviously the answers will slowly diminish with lesser teams but it's still worth a shot to get some info about each team. I did one similar to this for greneda, got a little feedback but none from any grenadans. Still some good info though and I think my grenada roster looks pretty good.

Wow, you really kicked off a discussion there. but you really should forget about getting grenadan forum members... i mean, even if you find one, i guess the grenadans don't know their own national team like the french or germans do. people from smaller countries are often not very much interested in their national teams, just like people from small cities only care for big teams near to their towns.

and on the other hand, to save time, i decided to not make my game better than i would know it. so, if the only thing i know about the national team of surinam is that the people from suriname most likely have dutch names, then i give them dutch names. i could investigate to find the real names but i wouldn't know the difference, so why waste the time (i'm still in my exams :))?

But of course what you're doing is the better way, since, unfortunately, my way has a catch: i can't fool myself. but i can ignore it.

by the way, i'm still playing my world cup qualification your way, i just quit changing sides in the game, i decided to play always the home team. this way's really fun, even without the thrill of having one team that can be kicked out anytime. i like this slow way of experiencing such a tournament. i started a month ago, and it will take until autumn i guess... almost like a real tournament.

I sorta goofed and lost a lot of my FIFA data... so for valentines day my wife is buying me fifa '07 early. i'll be picking it up tomorrow. I'm gonna start from scratch I think and really try to make the game something special for myself.

I understand your point about not really wasting your time BUT I really enjoy the reality of it all. I feel like if I just get the rosters right one team at a time and work on them whenever I feel like it ... at least I will have a few teams or maybe a good chunk of teams that have very detailed and accurate rosters... I'll learn more about the teams when I create them and can always begin to learn the players and formations and such later as I replay with those teams.

It's great to hear that playing every game of your tournament is working out for you. I can understand not enjoying switching at halftime, especially when there is a good balence, normally, to the number of home games played. I enjoy that sort of slow timeline, but I Think at times it's very fun to just pick a team and see it through with them. Watch the players grow and change and succeed or fail together... all at once.

So it's nice to switch off.

Unfortunately though, I also lost my previous tournament information so i'm a bit behind the 8 ball there but I think with database master, creation master and the kit conversion tools now available thanks to rinaldo, It shouldn't take too long to get these teams created. I'm sort of looking forward to it... but i know the excitement will fade quickly.

that's bad news about your lost work... so you can't copy anything... well i'd like to help you, of course. don't misunderstand my doubts, i just don't know how to provide you my files. maybe i burn it on cd and send it to you?
i know the file exchange stuff sites but my internet connection isn't so stable, it took me ages to download the cep for 06, not because of the download speed (that too though) but because the download was interrupted and cancelled so many times after hours of downloading.

yes, the fact that almost all games are played home and away made me do that, also the fact that the game is sort of lazy when it's about scoring, i'm slightly better than the cpu, so it made the whole thing more realistic. that way it's okay if algeria beats ivory coast, because in real life that could happen, too, but only in algeria.

the most unusual thing is south korea is already out (australia's fault, the groups are much tougher now), also Poland, China, Costa Rica and most likely Tunisia.

It's alright I think i'm gonna start from scratch... and try to make the game better than I made it before.

Installing it now... THE HARDEST PART is the kits though... and we got em... the rest is easy just takes some time.

Hi Liio, how's it goin?

I know it's been a while (i've been pretty busy myself @ work the last couple months - tax busy season - and bad thing is it doesn't slow down for a couple more :-/). But I did see it looks like several new kits have been made and posted in that "comprehensive kits" thread you have in '07. I'm sorry I just haven't had time to update the list for the CAF additions yet, but I will try and do that soon :=)

Let me know if there are any other kits around that have been made besides the ones on that "comprehensive" thread and i'll update.

Actually I was more interested in letting you know I've started making a Mega National Team Patch for FIFA 07. I know you are playing 05 at the moment. I figured I would tell you that all 208 teams will probably be available for download before too terribly wrong.

I have Trinidad, Jamaica, Mali, Aruba, and Montserrat if you want them

Thanks. But I'm actually trying to make every team from scratch. When adding so many teams I need to be careful I don't overload anyone's FIFA.fat file.

As well I'm trying to get the relative strength of the teams set to a believable level.

What I will ask though is. How believable are your rosters? Have you researched them or just sorta threw some names in? Getting rosters accurate is something I definately need a hand with.

Montserrat's 15 out of 16 actually play for them (though Ruel Fox maybe retired) the other is eligible to play for them (I think). All of the faces are from pictures found on the internet (which wasnt easy to find)
Aruba's all 16 play for them
Mali's 16 play for them
Trinidand and Jamaica are also realistic

I'm not quite to aruba montserrat or Mali just yet but if you'de be willing to send me a CM patch file with just the rosters on it i'de certainly use it when I got there. Jamaica and Trinidad I already created.
