International Tournaments - Start Date and Longer than 2 seasons

Hey Everyone,

Opening up this thread to ask about setting up a tournament which has a duration longer than 2 years. I've been trying to set up a UEFA EURO 2016 qualification and finals tournament which starts on September 7, 2014 and ends on July 10, 2016.

I've tried numerous things in the settings .txt files, but nothing works! Does anyone know of a workaround?

I would divide the tournament into several smaller tournaments, then for every higher tier tournament; call the winners of the lower tournaments and so on... That should/could work.

But I'm trying to make a single tournament, from qualification stages and playoffs for the final tournament: group stage & knockout to the final.

It works as follows:
Qualification (Sep 2014-Oct 2015): 9 Groups x 6 teams; Top 2 and 3rd place qualify to final tournament; remaining 3rds go to playoffs
Playoffs (Nov 2015): 8 teams in 4 playoff pairs for the final 4 spots
Final tournament (10 June - 10 July 2016): 24 team tournament 6 x 4 teams; Top 2 and 4 best 3rd place qualify to knockout Round of 16; then QFs, SFs and Final.

Ok I have 0 experience with tournament mode. If it was career mode, I would just go about with my method. I seem to recall a tournament tutorial somewhere - maybe that covers it (?)
I think it was for FIFA 13 though.

Marcas, can you explain to me how the schedule.txt file works? What is the lowest number that I can put in the second position?

ex: 932,###,1,9,9,1800

Does the schedule.txt file also relate to these two lines of code in settings.txt?

schedule_year_start,2014
schedule_year_offset,#

So I've managed to get all the dates in the UEFA EURO 2016 qualifying tournament! However, there's a problem. The first fixture that is playable is in September 2015 - when I have an entire year of fixtures from September 2014 which are visible but shaded?

You can use File Master or CG File Explorer 16 to extract the files.

Ok, I just did this. I edited CALSTART_YEAR from 2015 to 2014, but this caused a crash. I hope that there isn't a limitation of just one season.... I've just written to my good friends jschuck and Fidel to ask what they know

There are other guys (and threads) in this forum that has made patches like from the 90's or something, and I believe that this has been discussed and possibly solved there.

Does cmsetting.ini have any influence on tournament mode or only in career mode? It doesn''t seem so..

Hi, could you advise me on how to set up a new schedule for the EPL 21/22 season?

manually or via CM, I can't find it anywhere.
