Is it stupid to assume Mourinho is the best coach ever?

He's done a lot in a short period of time, and while his Chelsea accomplishments are dismissed by some because of their budget, he still did more with Porto who clearly doesn't have the same financial backing. Too early to call him the best though, but if in 5 years or more he's still winning trophies every year then he should be considered as possibly the best ever.

He'll be heralded as the best manager ever if he keeps his promise: win the world cup. I hope he does it with Portugal, which would raise his stature even higher.

Oh, and to those who say winning the EPL with Chelsea wasn't that much of an achievement, the 50-undefeated-straight-games Arsenal plays on the same league with pretty much the same players and manager.

Right now he's just the best manager in the world.

Maurinho is a fantastic coach but I like him more because of how he can handle the media with almost no effort. (Taking away the media pressure off his players by putting himself in the spotlight as a "controversial figure" was very clever)

Well ...thats if he did it for that reason :p

But seriously...he's not far from being best ever in Europe.

But World? If Carlos Bianchi can better Atletico Madrid and win the league this year...........he'll officially be the best of all time.

Check out THESE titles.

Argentine Champs- (with Velez that had a regular team)
Copa Libertadores Champs 94 (beating the unbeatable Sao Pablo of the 90s)
Intercontinental Cup 1994 vs. Milan (with no stars beat Milan 2-0 convincingly)

Then left and came back to the "dead" boca that was struggling to even win Domestic cups.

Won like 3 titles with Boca
Won 2 Copa Libertadores (2000/01)
Won Intercontinental in 2000 after dominating most of the game vs. Real Madrid.
2nd place in Intercontinental 2001 vs. Bayern Munich (in a Boca that just had Riquelme left after many of their stars had left)

then left and Boca went on a bad slump (like right away)
...comes back when Boca had almost nothing and turned the team into a world class one.
Wins the Argentinian championshp by many points.
Wins the Copa Libertadores on his first try.
Wins 2003 Intercontinental by actually playing Milan as an equal. (and Milan were completely superior in terms of players....like by far)
2nd Place in Copa Libertadores (losing to PKs away)

Bianchi is above now that i think about it. Cause he's already in that list (best coaches of all time). He's just 1 CL and La Liga away from being THE best IMO.

I agree. At the moment (and not about History or anything). He is by far the best on the planet. I wouldnt give him away for even Schevshenko.

You can't say that he is the best manager at the moment, there are just too many teams/managers he haven't faced yet. He is damn good, but let's give him some time before saying that he's der uber trainer eh?

He already said he wont coach england out of respect to his home country

that's because none of them wanted to go....he did try with those 50 mil. pound bids of his.
The fact that you base your transfer information off what you get in The Sun really shows (Y) If he REALLY wanted those players, he would just add a bigger signing bonus and up the wage offer.

When his time in England is all said and done, I have no doubt that his idol will be up there with the Cloughs, Fergusons, and Shanklys of the English game.

if it was just because of $$ and the quality of players, Madrid would never lose a game. Mourinho has a lot of $$ at his disposal, but he was built a complete team, that plays as a team, and always knows how to play and that comes down to coaching.

I dont understand why he has to be such a douchebag. He walks around like hes some sort of God among men.

He can barely speak english too. How the hell does he communicate to his players? On Match of the Day, the reporter asked him to comment on a goal, and Mourinho said, "Why?".

If i ever saw him, i would slap him in the face and bring him back to reality.

I admit, he has done some great stuff in his time, but calling him the greatest is just ridiculous. I think people get too mesmerized by his arrogance, you see the way the English media giggle like 15 year old girls everytime he says something? He's nowhere near the level Sir Alex is, even if Sir Alex is way past it. Coaches like Capello, Hitzfeld, Del Bosque in my opinion are better than him.

So your point is that you're not the best until you face everybody out there? He really has a long way to go, then. :|

untouchable: don't put Del Bosque in the same sentence as Capello or Mourinho.

Here in Porto many dislike Mourinho despite everything he won, for the way he left the club or/and didn't celebrate with us the CL title. As far as I'm concerned he can even coach Benfica that he'll always remain the best coach we've ever had (slightly above Artur Jorge - for all he did for us and for all he did in Benfica after  ).

Maarten: he can be many things, but how the hell is he overrated? :|
