Its ready to buy

It's ready to buy; unfortunately, early reviews indicate this wasn't entirely ready to bring to market. In fact, reviews sound like this is a standard FIFA title, with plenty of deep flaws, rather than a EA Big production, where we'd expect a higher level of quality.

So let's bring on the hands-on impressions...you agree?

I'll rent it either Weds. or thurs and i'll give you guys the full scoop. But I am not keeping my hopes up. Why they rushed it to market without proper ball physics is beyond me. Doesn't EA know that IF this game scores low NO ONE will buy it? Arghhh puzzling...let's hope the preview builds were ment to trick everybody or something.

I was referring to Play Magazine, which scored it 6/10;
Electronic Gaming Monthly/1UP.com, whose staffers rated it from 5.5-7.5;
and TechTV, who scored it 60, I believe.

Metacritic has links to a couple of these.

Very early on, but these reviews of the final game seem to be consistent.

If they hold true, EA's footy curse continues. EA does not equal footy.

I think I will probably buy it, although I did buy GT4 today so I think my wallet has had enough punishment for this week....but I do think that the game is made to be unrealistic in the terms of gameplay, and I think that is what probably makes it fun to play. The fact that you can do what you really cannot in the real game, but maybe I am wrong....:(

Heh, look like I'm the first one to get the game!

I have it for xbox, and I think the controls are kind of unresponsive.. takes quite a while for the player to do something after I press the button..

I'm not really good at reviews or anything, so I'll end there I guess, but if you have questions don't be shy.

I'll just talk about the "rule the street" mode.. I've created my player (they only let you write your first name here I think, unless your first and last name together is pretty short), the game lets you customize your player's hair, facial hair, and it seems that the face structure is pretty advanced, and you can make a lot of different head shapes and stuff..

not going to get into clothes, but when I was selecting my player's boots ( keep in mind, i just got the game, and most of the stuff is still locked), and there was a pair of adidas boots with the adidas logo , and some nike ones with the nike logo, so I guess they've got the licence for both.. i'm not sure what the model of each boot is called, but i've got the same adidas boots in real life, so i just went with them :D

after that, you choose your squad (all the players are pretty crappy), and then I went to Marselle, and I think I have to win 8 games in order to finish this city..

so far i've only played 2 matches, so i don't know what happens after, but i won the first 5:4, and the 2nd one 5:1.. which brings me to another point, all the games are up to 5 goals... so far at least..

back to the game now!

p.s. stupid EA for releasing this so early! i've got midterms tomorrow, and look at what i'm doing :f***: :f***:

I agree... the first few games when i didn't really know what I was doing, I didn't really like this game, but by the end of last night I ended up with about 10 games under my belt, and I'm starting to love it!

NBA Street V3 is a much better game though IMO.

So far the major complaint for me is goalies. FIrst of all they make too many saves that they shouldn't have made, and 2nd of all, YOU CAN'T DEKE OUT THE GOALIE!

I guess the fact tht goalies make too many good saves can be excused by the fact that this is an arcade game, and all the other players are pulling off moves that they wouldn't make during big games, but the fact that you can't go around the goalie drives me nuts. The whole point of this game is showcasing your skill, and yet every time you have a scoring chance, your only option is to blast it.

the goalies are like frigin super heroes.....and the gamebreaker its kinda hard to do because the shot must be perfect.

the game its awsome though(H)
