Fifa wins in liscenses, graphics, cutscenes.

WE makes up for the lack of liscensed leagues and deliveres a master league mode.

I think its better than fifas carreer mode.

uh..but if the gameplay is repetitive and boringly sh1t, all that means NOTHING

dont get me wrong, it means a great deal... thats why i like it so much. However it takes so much away from the game. I wish the presentation was as good as fifas...

I play football and i see football in TV and in real life, player movements in FIFA are life-like, much more than in WE8, in FIFA 2005 the movements are more smooth.

I played Euro 2004 and the players look like robots. If FIFA 2005 isnt a huge improvement to the first, i dont get your point. I play football and i see football in TV too. The gameplay in FIFA just sucks, and it's no use in having smoother movements when you have someone from division C doing elasticos and 360's as good as Zidane does just by pressing 2 buttons or something like that.

It's repetitive and usually in FIFA 90% of the goals are scored from the same place. Plus the free kicks are ridiculous, they thought it was NBA Live and put some ****ty indicators. When you get it right (which isnt hard to do so), you're going to score 100% of the time because it looks like the GK just refuses to jump on the ball (yeah the GK AI isnt anything special in WE but in FIFA it's just ridiculous).

Fancy graphics and good presentation dont make up for the gameplay. This is coming from someone that has played all FIFA versions since FIFA International on SNES. Back then it was fun, but them ISSS showed up and it blew FIFA away on the SNES aswell.

Well I play football and watch football in real life and I think tht all the FIFA games in the new millenium have been WOEFUL. I hav them all and I can hardly tell the difference between 2003 and 2004. The freekicks are awful, u cnt dribble and the players all look the same, except for about 50 of the worlds most famous players. THe rest hav the same face but diffrent colourede hair. And the movements arent 'lifelike' and 'smooth', they're patchy, glitchy and just awful.

In WE8 u can dribble properly, use proper skills and play football like its actually played. Also, at least u can edit the teams/players/kits/stadia so tht they do look authentic, you've been able to do that since pro evolution soccer 1! And FIFA havn't even bothered to put this feature in its game until now (if it even is in 2005).

Do urself a favour [mouta-FCP] and go buy a true football game for football fans :rockman:

PES 4 is gonna suck the life out of EA.

Fifa 2005 is much improved over fifa 04, but is still doesn't give enough competition even to the ISS series

If Konami had full licenses, God would have to resign, cos heaven will be on earth, not on some fuc*ing clouds

Until Konami get online in PES ,, i will choose that as the number one preference,, i will still buy PES but will not play it as much as fifa. I am going to buy both fifa 2005 and PES4 becuase they both look like great games,, i wish everyone would stop arguing about which game is better because they are both great games ! but for me i will tend to play fifa more because of more licenses and the online play .

uh.. u got no friends?

coz even if PES4 has online feature..I probably wouldn't use it as much..coz my friends come in force every night ....

or I'd be at their friend's house to challenge others .... 2v2 game etc etc...

online feature is great..but that alone doesn't make a good game...

one thing i dont like pes for is the moves...

in pes 3 they were all the same.
the stepovers were teh same for each player.

At least in 2004 sucky players stumbled. the moves and one on one in fifa still suck though, i can never do them:(

LOL mouta thats why in FIFA 2003 EVERY SINGLE BICYCLE KICK I DID OFF A CORNER WAS AN AUTOMATIC GOAL???????????? HAHAHAHAHAH WHAT A JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They know they messed up and thats why they took BICYCLE KICKS OUT OF FIFA 2004. HAHAH ANOTHER JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FIFA2005, Well can't say much about that yet. Why do they make such a big deal about the music in the game????? who gives a **** about that. If I buy a football game its to play football not to listen to some cornball techno music.

Stepovers arent really effective. It would be tough to do a different stepover move for every player though. Hopefully in PES4 there will be more added moves (like the elastico).

Even so, the better gameplay makes up for it. Plus in FIFA it looks like every time the ball hits the net, it's hitting a wall instead.

well everyone having their own stepover is kind of hard to do.

but like their free kicks, why not have different styles and randomly assign it to players and then for special players who are known for their stepovers (like c.ronaldo(H) ) they can have their own stepover animation.

oh and in fifa the ball does not look OR sound like its hitting a wall.

it sounds and looks like its hitting a metal cage

Does FIFA still give you the option to turn offsides off in game?
Also, the option to turn fouls off? I know they can be left on, but i know you turn them off. :)

If you say 'YES' to one or both of these statements, then FIFA is still an arcade-type soccer game:).

First thing that turned me away from FIFA was that PES does not even offer that option, and never should. Why? Because right there that tells me the game is a simulation. Regardless of graphics, licenses, whatever.

I am not bashing FIFA guys one bit, i will actually give 2k5 an honest observation, because things have progressed, but for me, we7i as a person still gives me what i want in a soccer video game.
my 2 cents.
