Jikkyo World Soccer 2002 / ISS2 *JPN*

REVIEW OF JIKKYO WORLD SOCCER 2002 JAPANESE VERSION
--------------------------------
I think the first thing that I must point out to you all, is that this game is NOT like previous ISS games on the N64. And to be quite honest you could almost say that it plays just like the Pro evolution series on the Playstation, which is something I’m very disappointed about as ISS’98 for me is the best footie game out there.
So why Konami kept the name ISS as the title for this game I don’t know?
With previous ISS games the enthuses was on fast arcade style football which I personally loved. You felt in control of the game at all times, it was smooth and highly playable and you always had lots of fun taking long shots, performing tricks, bending the ball all over the place and scoring amazing goals.
But unfortunately, with ISS 2002 this has all gone, and instead you find yourself playing more of a simulation type game where all the fun has been taken out and replaced by more real-to-life football. You can’t do hardly anything that you could in previous ISS games which is a real let down in my opinion.
Some of the bad points that I’ve picked out are that you don’t feel fully in control of the game, the control of the players can be a bit unresponsive and awkward at times, when you take shots you have to judge them by use of a power bar which is a bit anoying, and the control stick isn’t very accurate in terms of passing etc.
But although I’m pretty disappointed on the whole I’m still going to keep ISS 2002 just because I’m a big football fan and it’s still the best footie game on the cube.
and although some of you may think i've been overly harsh it’s just that it's not for me, as I’m a true fan of ISS and this just doesn’t live you to it’s name, but that’s just my opinion. If you’re a fan of pro evolution soccer then this is the game for you.
how i think the game rates:
graphics 7/10
sound 6/10
playability 4/10
lifespan 7/10
My overall game rating 5/10
it's just interesting
