Job Interview

Hopeunited

Starting XI
Hi fellow SGer's... I would like to humbly ask for your expert opinions and tips on things that one can do in a job interview to get hired. This is one relatively inexperienced aspect of my life, and I need to improve. I have had 2 co-op job interviews but did not end up getting selected, and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong, so please throw whatever tips or anecdotes you have out there, thanks.

Also, I think I'm good with the first impression stuff. The handshake is always firm but not overly aggressive. I always maintain eye contact and smile throughout. I think I'm having trouble with selling my skills and bull****ting to make myself sound so magnificent.

Find someone who will do a mock interview with you. If you're in school the career services office should do this, and if you're in the real world then go to a placement agency.

or go back to your school and say that as an alumni, you should be allowed careers help.

Interviews are mainly about charisma, impress the employer by saying how stuff you've done in your past can help the job you're going for. E.g. if it's customer relations then say how you've helped someone in the past by talking and explaining something to them.

Often doesnt matter what you're saying, just the fact that you're speaking confidently.
