Nice question! it does work on FUT and other online modes.
course : FIFA 15\data\sceneassets\pitch
It doesn't matter what regenerator you use for the patch.

How do I get the grass to have full contrast from further camera angles? I am pretty sure it has something to do with the rendering but i'm not sure. If someone would help me I would really appreciate it.

Not sure.. My guess would be to open the pitchwearpattern.rx3 in File Explorer and paint over it.

from the pitch folder

Then regenerate with whatever regenerator you have
