well, it seems as though the Bastos deal has been called off ... the only reason I can think of is to have enough cash to make a real push for Kun, while leaving some loose change for the January market (either to finance wages for a big-name loan signing, or to actually make a purchase) ...

and your #16 jersey is still open; that'll be the clincher for the Agüero deal ...

I think we could probably get both Aguero and Bastos.. but it depends on how much money we can get on the offload of Iaquinta and Amauri.

I really hope we sign a big name this summer. Marotta can go **** himself if he goes after another second-rate striker like Vucinic and doesn't give it a try for Aguero. As for signing Bastos.. hope we get him, he's tons better than Pepe.

and here's a thought: it is clear you guys are stocked on forwards for the season ... but the creative department is a bit thin ... if there is enough cash for Kun, why are Marotta & Co. not going for Pastore?

I mean, Amauri is being looked at by Palermo as it is ... throw him, Tiago, and may a decent youngster like Ciro Immobile (or whichever U21 Palermo want) into a part-exchange offer, and you could land JP by only spending 30 of the 50 mil kitty, allowing enough of a remainder to capture another good player -- like negotiating a €15m deal to keep Aquilani, or landing an excellent central defender like Simon Kjær ...

Yeah, I'd probably go with Matri-Aguero aswell. We'd have such an incredible strike force with them and Quagliarella and Del Piero, but hopefully Juve will sign another player that can supply these players. The Bastos rumours faded for the moment, so I'm not sure who'd the front runner in that department. Vucinic?

the Bastos story wasn't a rumour; they've stopped negotiations because they don't want to spend that much on him just yet, when it could risk not landing the big star Kun ...

I like Mirko a lot ... but he is definitely too inconsistent (though, admittedly, Jérémy Menez redefines what that word means), and he can't score tap-ins for sh!t ...

but he does have a heck of a creative ability, and can score some wonder goals ... that's why he'd be perfect to fill a creative forward's role, supplying to people who would convert those chances more often than not ...

and the coach may need to whip him into line about putting in defensive work, but I don't think that will be difficult ...
