There are rumours LA Galaxy may be more likely. I know Ale loves Los Angeles and the Lakers. He wrote a book about his passions for sports and culture a while ago. NY would probably be a cooler. In any case I'm afraid I'll lose touch with him when he's going to play in the MLS, I've only seen glimpses of it when I was in the US (and I switched to other channels immediately, hehe). I think it's more about his change of lifestyle than a competitive change anyway.

Galaxy have Beckham, Donovan, and Keane. I don't know how many of those salary cap exempt players you can have on one team, but they must be near the top. The Red Bulls makes the most sense with a huge market full of Italian Americans.

But I don't know **** about MLS and have no desire to know anything, so whatever.

He's always holidaying in the US and loves the NBA so it's the most likely destination.

I've already written a letter to Perth Glory suggesting they sign him. (H)

hah awesome!

did you write one for Vieri? I'd have written to both Perth Glory and the Western Warriors to try get him ... can't you just see Bobo tearing it up in both the A-League and the Big Bash? (H)

Haa damn. That would have been more possible too, bring his brother back also.

DP - Smeltz would somewhat resemble DP - Trez however especially in this league

Forza Suarez! (ps brotha can you spare a dime?)
Hmm, DP to the Red Bulls, sounds interesting.

Maybe next time I won't throw out those coupons for criminally discounted Red Bulls' tickets for two people that includes food and beverage I always get in the mail. (H)

Juve played in New York (Citi Field) only last year, did you know? I also just googled the New York Red Bulls and they beat Juve in a friendly back in 2010.

I also remember the 2003 Supercoppa in New York. Juve are regular visitors of New York man! hehe

Yeah, I never go when Juve is in town. :( Being employed doesn't help and the opportunity might present itself now if he signs for the Red Bulls because I can choose a day I'm off.

You guys in Europe have it made when it comes to watching a game, you can practically go on a whim. (H)

If only! I always have to best plans but before I know it the season is over. Last time I saw Juve play was way back in '07, Juve - Napoli in Serie B. How things have changed since then... Juventus Stadium is definitely my first priority now, especially with the new Juventus museum and all. It looks amazing.

Have to say I preferred a trip to Barcelona over Turin this year, I'm a traitor. Juve were going through a bad stretch when I had to pay up, so I chose Barca - Bilbao instead of Juve - Napoli in the same weekend. For the price of Pepe I could see Messi and Iniesta... once in a lifetime kind of thing. :P

(Carlo Bigatto, Juve player from 1913-1931)

I don't think I've ever seen a silly hat with club colors like this in a historical football photograph before. It's funny. They should do it again for an anniversary game, just for sh*ts and giggles.

Browsing through other photos I'd say this was just Carlo's thing. I think he had it custom made, club colors and all, lookin' like a pro.

Pretty intense dude...

The first transfer is in. We took up the option to buy Caceres and he signed a four year contract with us. Really glad we bought the man. I like him a lot more than Lichtsteiner, probably because he scored against both Milan and Inter this year. (H)

He's a miserable crosser though. Besides his goals vs Milan and Inter I didn't really like contribution in attack, I prefer Lichtsteiner in that regard. Very good signing for depth in any case.

Lichtsteiner crossing isn't of the highest quality either, but Caceres is still young and can fill in pretty much anywhere along the back 3, 4 or 5 (barring that average showing at LWB) so he's great depth.

Really hoping we can snag Cavani somewhow, perfect addition imo

Looks like Esti isn't being signed on, Neither with Boriello reports say, hopefully that means we will sign both a LB and a striker, Kolarov + Cavani/RVP??

Cavani would be the dream transfer, but I just don't see it happening.

About RvP, I have mixed feelings. Yeah.. he's one of the best players around but he'll be 29 by the time the season starts and he's also injury prone. If we could get him somewhat cheap it would be ok, but if Arsenal want a huge sum of money.. I'd pass, he's just not worth the investment. I'd be much much happier if we could get Higuain or even Suarez.

I think Higuain is completely unavailable after recent media contracts, Suarez not sure, is he a good enough finisher?
