Paul Pogba has made clear that he has ‘never considered leaving Juventus’ and that his future is with the Bianconeri.
The Frenchman had been the subject of continued speculation regarding his future amid transfer links to the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Real Madrid.
However, on from his agent’s assertion yesterday that contract renewal talks with Juventus are due to continue soon, the player has commented on where he sees his future.
“I never thought or spoken about leaving Juventus, my future is here,” Pogba has commented to La Stampa today.
“Where will I go? I’m here, right? I’ve got a contract with Juventus - so what are we talking about?
“I don’t think about the market. That has always been the case, when I was at Le Havre and they said Manchester United were following me and wanted to sign me - in short, for a child of 13, that is crazy news.
“But I’ve always been happy to play. And that’s it.”
Speculation recently was that Zinedine Zidane personally called Pogba to convince him to move to Real Madrid.
“I would like to know how it came out - perhaps someone has seen his number on my phone? I never said I wanted to play there, I just said they are a great team like United and Juventus.”
The 21-year-old considered life at Juventus, which this season has seen him become a regular in Antonio Conte’s midfield.
“At Juve I have learned how to be professional, especially in the daily work, and to manage my body - I was not used to playing games every three days.
“I had hoped and thought to grow and improve, but I never imagined it could happen so quickly. Marchisio had some physical issues early in the season, I was fine and I took advantage.
“I don’t take free-kicks or penalties, I’m proud of my goals. And there are those who already shoot from free-kicks pretty well.
“Playing around Pirlo I have learned not to ever throw the ball away, even when you are in your own area. And then the confidence to want the ball, even in the middle of a crowd.
“Influences? Yaya Toure is a great player, I looked to him when I was a kid, trying to learn. Physically he is strong, big, like they say I am.
“I need to improve with my headers. But I have to improve also in so many areas.
“I look at Cristiano Ronaldo and I see a player who can do everything. Here, I would like to become a complete midfielder.
“My idols were Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Zidane. I like to play in midfield because that is the engine of the game, you always have the ball at your feet.
“A turning point at Juve? There was a precise moment, the goal I scored against Napoli two years ago.
“Until that moment, people saw me and said: ‘hey look, there’s Balotelli’. From that day onwards they began to say: ‘hey, that’s Pogba’.”
I could french kiss Platini right now.

With PSG unable to spend such big sums you're probably safe. Then again, Pogba being French and so good might make it worth their while to offload a bunch of players and get him as a replacement.

I wouldn't take any of those quotes too literally. All players say the same shit until they the day before they get transfered.

Especially with an agent like Raiola, even if Pogba wanted to stay he'd make him leave

they can spend up to 60 mil on 1 player ...

they won't have to, considering there are a couple of contracts expiring that'll automatically lighten the wage bill ...

haha, very true ...

I understood that PSG cannot spend without first selling players for the same amount. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that their slap on the wrist isn't even a slap.

you clearly misunderstood or were misinformed ... probably from [reading articles] relating a locked wage bill to player sales, forgetting about contract expirations ...

actually thinking about it, the only reason for PSG to focus on Pjanić instead of Pogba is that Miki would actually qualify as homegrown ...

What? The article I read said PSG's wage bill was locked at the same amount it was this year and that they couldn't buy anyone without selling someone else first. These points were not related. They were mentioned as separate measures.

Do you have an article with an accurate description of the punishment?

Then what the fuck are you talking about? You said PSG can spend 60m on a player and said I had misunderstood the punishment. Please show me where you got your superior information from (which enabled you to make those statements).

the 60 mil is mentioned on ESPN ...

UEFA will also reportedly ask PSG to limit their transfer activity, allowing them to buy one player at 60 million euros, but forbidding them to break down that sum to buy two players, for example, at 30 million euros or three at 20 million euros.

1. Please provide a link.
2. Your basis for saying I'm wrong is ESPN? Right.
3. Where is your data that showed how I had clearly misinterpreted the punishment?

Seems odd that you always supply sources yet you don't here. It reminds me of when you stop replying because you've been thoroughly proved wrong.

I just did a presentation on Cultural Studies the other day about Althusser. He wrote about how Marx noticed that in Adam Smith's writings he would ignore anything that contradicted his logic or gave deformed responses. I immediately thought of you.

I just googled it and the ESPN article you took that quote from was one that related a locked wage bill to player sales (which was supposedly my mistake). So, firstly, my statement was that I had understood those two punishments were separate. That is based on the article I read which has the same validity as yours (not much). I'd love to know why you're right but I'm wrong though. I'd also love to know why you pass off something that ESPN mentioned as 'reportedly' as fact.

By that analogy, as pertaining to this specific matter, yes, I guess.
