when de ceglie played in pre-season he played side back. but i think i had seen him before listed as a midfielder. am i wrong or is this his brother that is a forward or sumthing.

Nah, you're right. He can play both leftmidfielder and leftback, but I think his first preference is playing leftmidfielder.

I thought many Madrid fans wanted him out?

He needs to add some weight to play in Italy. I like the kid but we have enought forwards unless he can play behind them as an attacking mid like Camo or Nedved. :|
