Kitserver 5

Juce what enegia meant is that kitserver always looks for the default o_text.afs . Some people though run multiple versions of the game by renaming the exe and hex editing it to load differently named 0_text.afs files. For example I have the superpatch and the default version of PES5 in the same folder. The default version's 0_text.afs file is named 1_text.afs. When I try to load PEs5default.exe the game crashes before entering the game. If I use a non hexedited version and rename 1_text.afs to 0_text.afs it works just fine.

the kitserver would must have an option to use multiple 0_text.afs renamed files and an option to increase numbers of KDB (KDB1, KDB2, KDB3...) folders (for the various differents teams in different patches, associated with the news renamed 0_text.afs) :jap:

i guess i could do that. Kitserver though would have to find out at runtime which file is loaded instead of 0_text.afs, and then the kserv.cfg will have a mapping of which KDB folder to use with that AFS.

Sounds doable, although not exactly necessary, because you can just make 2 copies of the game and do what you're doing. Just make a copy of your PES5 folder and you'll have 2 kitservers, and you don't even have to hexedit PES5 exe to which 0_text.afs to use. Granted, this solution needs more space since you need to copy all AFS files, but the advantage is simplicity

Thanks mate. Saves a lot of space when you're running 3-4 different patches that share resources. :)

@Mr. Scratcher: Valeu!

Something else: I've replaced a team with another and now the back name keeps getting under the back number. Can anyone change it?

dunno if someone posted it already, but there seems to be an issue with model n°63 (juve one, with 2 different socks).
if i use kits from the afs, kit looks fine when mixing the single parts.
instead, if i use the kitserver with the very same pngs from the afs, mixing results in wrong socks use.
the kit will use one sock from the home kit, and the other from the away kit (one white and one red then).

is this somekinda fixable? (beside using kits from afs, of course :) )

tnx in advance :jap:

With Juventus, this effect happens when you're using all-in-one kits , because kitserver's internal kit-splitter always splits a kit the same way, and it doesn't know that Juventus kit is special.

The solution is to use kits that were already manually separated into pieces. Then it works fine, because kitserver doesn't need to split the kit, since it's already done.

So you should have it like this in your 07176 folder in KDB:

07186.png - home shirt
07187.png - home shorts
07188.png - home socks
07191.png - away shirt
07192.png - away shorts
07193.png - away socks

THANK
U

:jap: :jap: :jap:

edit :
just in case... can i use the same all-in-one png for 3 copies, instead of splitted ones?
im getting a total kit inversion when mixing parts this way...

@Juce
Somethimes the Game crashes when going to editing mode. Have you any idea what's the reason for that? Perhaps kitserver have problems with some kits, i don't know

zeus,
that's possible. Do you have a reliable example of such crash - like a particular team you try to edit, or the kind of kit it uses - BMP or PNG? Information like that would really help to track down this problem.

I always find if i make any changes to the folder that happens to me . If i uninstall and re-install kitserver its usually fine .

Bebeto 94,
what folder are you talking about? The thing with uninstall/re-install sounds coincidental, (since it just removes and adds again a code snippet that loads "kload.dll"), but... who knows.

The KDB folder . If i say, change a kit then i sometimes get problems in the editing menu and it may crash , it may well be coincidental but it seems if i uninstall and then reinstall kitserver after changing the KDB its then ok
