Congratulations to all of the Real Madrid fans on SG*. Get off the forums and go drink!!

I went to my first match of the season (I just got to Spain last week), and unfortunately it wasn't a memorable one. I was sitting in the stands with my radio. The only real excitement of the match came when news of the Mallorca goal reached, at which point the fans were on their feet urging the team to seize the opportunity. To no avail... we were missing 6 very important starters and others looked exhausted; this was the team's 62nd match of the season. After the final whistle the fans paid homage to David who is leaving now after 7 years of "casta y coraje," which sent chills through my body; very touching.

Betis saved themselves with 10 minutes left.... otherwise the Sevilla fans would have had something else to celebrate!

Don't know what else to say... it's been a crazy season. I don't know when Sevilla will get another whiff of the title... Let's hope next season can bring as much excitement.

*Except for justhammy who has proven that he's the same brand of fan that whistles the team when they're losing

Ruud 1mil€ for being top scorer, and winning la liga, and Beckham 1mil€, for winning la liga. I think its something like that.

I havent posted in these forums for over 1 year and change but I always did check up...anyway I must post to celebrate and congratulate any and all fellow madridistas! this is was a dream ending that had all of us (Barca and Sevilla fans included) in the edge of our seats. I think Barca always had the better team man by man but madrid (as shown today) had the bigger HEART!!! :bouncy::bouncy:
Hala madrid!!!

Thanks! Great season Sevilla had. One of the best sides in European football at the moment. Hope you win Copa Del Rey!

congrats to Madrid

But i still cant understand why the team with more goals, with less goals recived, and the less losses in the league is not the champion, but rules are rules i guess

I still think that the goal avg. is the most fair criteria, and i still think Barcelona deserved the tittle, they were the best team in the season overall ,numbers dont lie.

Madrid showed cojones, and im happy for Becks and R.Carlos.

i disagree. When two teams are equal on points, you have to look who is better between those two teams. And i think there is no better criteria than to look at matches between those teams. If team A beat team B twice in a season, both home and away, i think you can safely say team A is better, between those teams.
and Madrid has the most wins in this season too. none of this matters though, because every team knew the rules at the start of the season, and its been like this for years.
and no, Barca wasnt the best team this season :). They had the same problem Madrid suffered these past years, arrogance, and the belief that all it takes to win, is to show up. They had numerous chances to run away with the title, yet screwed up each time. Champions take those chances.

Indeed, it's a very interesting system... and I really can't decide which one I think is better: that one or the classic "goal difference" one. A solid case can be made for both.

In my humble opinion i think that system should applly only in short competitions or at group phases. I think is more fair to use the old goal avg. system, it shows the overall performance of a team in 38 games in this case.

Barcelona screwed big time tough there are no excisese they knew the rules and Madrid is a fair champion

Another very valid point.
