Senna, Xavi, Iniesta, Villa, Silva... they were all stunning. Senna at his best is a Barça style player (as DMF and CMF like Keita does)

Fair enough; and I guess he was pretty old even in 2008. Still, it's amazing how much Spain and Germany have changed in 3 years.

While both still being easily top 4 in the world!

No but really, you had Piqué, Xavi, Iniesta, a lot of times Cesc and Silva. That spine alone is enough for what I was talking about. Barça is basically that plus Messi (and take out Silva and put Villa).

Fair enough. It was Puyol though, no Pique yet. Also no Busquets and Pedro, and Villa was a Valencia player. That's what I meant.

I didn't realize Silva was a starter all the way through Euro 2008. He kinda got screwed.
It worked, didn't it?

Btw, nice to see some people remembering Senna's performance. He was amazing. It's disappointing that he has not kept up that form, but I guess he's old.

It did, but I'd like to think Spain would have done just as well with Silva in there at the World Cup instead of Torres (at first) and Pedro (at the end). Hard to believe those changes would have made them worse off.

Levante won again, maintaining their spot at the top of the table with 7 wins, 2 draws, and no losses. On the other side of the table, Villareal have dropped into the relegation zone.

So I ask you:
What are the odds that Levante qualify for the Champions League? (I say 10%)
What are the odds that Villareal get relegated at the end of the season? (I say 5%)

Lets remember that Real Betis saved themselves on the last day of the season the same year that they played the Champions League, and Real Zaragoza were relegated a season after finishing 6th. Both teams played a great brand of footy, but tumbled down the table almost inexplicably, much like Villareal's current run.
