Do not compare James Bond to The Hulk.

Why not? They both do things that seem impossible....

Well the thing about these Batmans is that they may well be good films, I am willing to believe King that the plots are good and the acting is good and the cinematography is good, but the thing is they are good IN SPITE of the fact they are about a superhero, not BECAUSE of it. Obviously I cant speak with authority because I havent seen them but I imagine the aspects everyone likes about the story are not the bits where Batman prances about in a cape or drives around in a giant bat mobile..... why cant the talent that has gone in to the script and the film go into making a serious crime\terrorism movie which doesnt have to lever in silly costumes and antiquated ideas from a 60 year old children's comic.......

I see what you mean... If they just had some regular Joe instead of a superhero it would have made the movie much more appealing to you but even if this movie has Batman there isn't that much of Batman in the movie.

Maybe, you should just check it out. I am sure you will hate it because of a superhero but maybe it will be one of the superhero movies that you will hate the least.

Did you like Inception?

Just saw On Her Majesty's Secret Service again for the first time in a loooong time. Pretty good. Aside from a few dubious bits of acting from Lazenby and his lack of personal charisma, it was really good.

recommend a movie that'll rob me of my manhood, brothers.....a tearjerker on the level of The Saint of Fort Washington or The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas

Oh, btw, Ebonix. Thank you for introducing me to Emiliana Torrini....what a staggeringly gorgeous voice.

I'm not sure it's the same type of tearjerker, I haven't seen the movies you mentioned, but Umberto D. sure pulled a few tears from me. It's a Vittorio De Sica neorealist classic and one of the best movies of all time.

what do you know? It's sitting here in my external. I've got close to two terabytes worth of painstakingly appraised movies and I've probably only watched a dozen of 'em in the last two years. At this point in my life, I think I get off more from hoarding 'em than actually making the time to sit down to enjoy them..

thnx for the suggestion, brother.

Yeah Umberto D is absolutely top quality.

But if you want a fairly accessible movie that'll tear your heart to pieces, La vita è bella (Life is Beautiful) is the way to go...

Till this day, I still haven't watched it. I distinctly recall the Roberto Benigni Oscar hype-train being insufferable.

I'll download a burn-worthy version right now

a 1.1gig dvdrip....that'll do.

Watched The Dark Knight Rises. Great, obviously! Still preferred the second one on its own, but the trilogy has got to be one of the best and most consistent ever. Nolan is a genius periods. Regardless of whether Shifty and Sir_Didier_Drogba think superheroes are cool or not. Can't you guys at least check them out if only because of Memento, The Prestige and Inception? Also, agreed with probably everything King said.

I finally watched last night and thoroughly enjoyed it as well. Also liked the second movie better, I think Heath Ledger's performance is gonna be impossible to top. Bane wasn't bad, but what the **** was up with that voice?

Also sounded like Batman dropped the insanely raspy voice to a more understandable tone.

The three hours went by pretty fast and nice little twist (although a bit predictable) at the end.

I actually liked Bane better than the Joker. I also liked Two-Face more, though.

Gonna have to rewatch it to decide which I like the most, but I think it's pretty close between the latter two.

What are you talking about? I've seen it and gave my thoughts. I thought it was a capitalist plutocrat's wet dream of a movie. The masses are lunatics who want to strip us of our wealth and only the good, decent police stand between the awesome status quo and total anarchy. I didn't like that message. Most of the movie I was entertained by, particularly Hathaway who stole every scene she was in.

She was really sexy in it, but in terms of the plot, it didn't seem like she had **** to do with it.

Batman is a grown man jumping around in a suit.
Superman is a grown man jumping around in a suit.
Spiderman is a man or boy jumping around in a suit.

Tell me, how is Batman better than Spiderman? If anything the 10,000 gadgets hidden in his belt and magically embedeed in 26 different parts of his body should slow him down compared to the other guy who just fires webs out of his hand as his solution to every problem the world throws at him. Quiet frankly, though, with all 3 of these, all I see is a man in tights defying the laws of the universe, which is totally fake. If you ask me, they are all equally s**t! And none would be or should be suitable after the age or 10.

BTW, Hulk is a grown man jumping around, without any clothes on.
Robin Hood is a grown man jumping around, in a suit and a French-looking hat.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are a grown animals jumping around, without any clothes on.
