Quickstep are still talking to ASO about that situation. He's not listed as a starter, but as a reserve. Should ASO agree to cocaine out of competition not being doping (it could enhance your training experience maybe), he can be added still.

Well I'm happy.

At the start of this tour, I made four bets..

$20 on a Cadel win at $2.75 (so $55 return)

$20 on a Sastre win at $8.00 (so $160 return)

$10 on Freire for green (after I saw that there wasnt that many TRUE sprints, and that itd be a strong sprinter, who coiuld climb a little, I thought Freire would edge out Hushovd) at $8 (so $80 return)

And I put $10 on a Straight Trifecta...It was Evans, Saste, Menchov. And this pays at $49.5! Meaning if thats how they finish, I win $495!!!

So I've basically already won my Green Jersey bet..

So I'm taking home $80 to start with! Then if Cadel can win, I get $55...(which basically covers the $60 I laid down)

If Sastre wins, I miss out on Cadels $55, but gain $160!

IF, Evans does win (as mentioned above), and I win the $55, then Sastre is most likely to finish second, meaning if Menchov can get enough time to beat Kohl and Schleck in the final TT, then I end up winning another $495!!

I'm gonna be rich!! I can feel it!

What does everyone think? I think 1'34" won't be enough for Sastre. Last year in the two 50km+ TTs Cadel put ~2'30" into Sastre. This year in a much shorter TT he put 1'16" into him...Sastre has the advantage of going last, AND the advantage of the yellow jersey pushing him....it will be mighty close. Poor Cadel may miss out again in exactly the same fashion as last year...Or Poor Sastre could wear the jersey until the second last day...It'll be close!

It's unlikely, but does anyone know how the race is decided in case of them finishing on the same time? I'm guessing stage wins? What if Cadel wins the TT, after Sastre has also won one stage? Is it decided on stage second places? Then thirds, fourths etc?

Evans will do a good job at TT, overtake Sastre and won't let wear the yellow shirt anyone else till the finish line in Paris. Cadel is the strongest from the all favourites at TT so it's obvious that he'll do whatever it takes to make a huge advantage and win the race. I was hoping for a good result for the Schleck brothers though :(

The Schleck boys were never there to win the race though. If somehow they got away and got a big gap, then CSC would have raced for them, but right until the end they were racing for Sastre, with Frank as a backup (because he was in yellow)..

Other than the one stage where he lost time, I think Andy Schleck looked the strongest climber in the race.

He'll win it by 2010...if not next year.

Quintana was a machine. Polka dot and white jersey is a nice double.

Froome just missed out on the double, has been a dominant ride for him. Porte has looked the third strongest rider in the race, the few stages he lost big time in I'm not convinced he was hurting as much as they led us to believe.

Cavendish for another win on the Champs Eleysee tonight?

Nah they've either managed to get the drugs out or the drugs have got a lot better, because everyone lately has been apparently clean.

Also, you know what Jamaica is to sprinting right now? Great Britain is that to cycling.

I don't follow cycling really, but apparently Rui Costa won two stages, everyone was happy for the dope head over here.

All you need to know is that as soon as they got the drugs out the good ol' rule obeying Brits have won two consecutive TdFs and a record haul of olympic medals.

Great Britain? You mean Froome? The guy who was born in Kenya, raised in South Africa?

Sounds like your cricket team!

I'm a huge cycling fan, have been for years (I used to ride) and have a mate who races (usually on the tdf but not this year), and I'm afraid I'm not very confident that the guys at the top - especially GC riders at grand tours, are clean.

Froome and Wiggins in particular seem so far ahead of the pack it's ridiculous, as does basically everyone who rides with Sky on their day (Richie Porte).

I think Alberto Contador has stopped doping, hence he is now being left behind, but he was far and away the best in an era where everyone was doping, so I really struggle with the idea that Froome has suddenly become that much better than Alberto.

Just a little confused on your assumption that everyone is clean or the drugs are now better. What are you basing that on? Jan Ullrich, Lance Armstrong, Marco Pantani, Bjarne Riis, Alex Zulle never served drug bans either, and they went through an era riddled with drugs.

Most not Sky/British cycling fans have HUGE doubts over Team Sky's results. Not that they're winning, the way they're doing it. No one has seen anything like it since the Lance Armstrong led US Postal...
