Stupid question, how do get it wndowed, because I would prefer doin that, for those reasons.

Click with the rightmouse button on the Fifa 07 shortcut and add the following line: "windowed"
So it looks like this: "../Fifa 07.exe" -windowed very simple really :)

Thank you for all your efforts.

However we must find a true fix. This OBVIOUSLY is a bug. The game graphics are not very intensive, I think a decent video card (6600gt and better) should be MORE than able to handle it in high detail and high resolution in full screen.

I tried your fix both in high detail and in medium detail. It doesn't work. I have a 7800GTX with 256 MB of VRAM and I am able to run most games at very high resolutions with full detail and 4xAA 8xAF, so I am certain this is a bug.

If I load it in windowed mode it runs great. Obviously no one wants to run it in windowed, though.

If anyone finds another fix, please let us know.

deftone, thanks again.

Any advices for a WinXP with 1GB in RAM and a NVIDIA AGP GeForce 6600?

I played with High Detail, at 1024x768, game was fine

But there's something wrong with the lighting, the hair of the player looks horrible when doing the close up, I mean the idea is amazing

But the result is a game that "tries" to be spectacular but isn't. I think PES is much more detailed, and graphically attractive. But maybe with your settings, FIFA 07 could look awesome.

I have used your medium settings file, it works, but when i play on (sunny) day, sometimes the game runs fine, and then there is kinda great lagg for a moment. Anyway, when I play at night, the lagg isnt there as much and it plays pretty fine. So why is it running better at night than day, when I use your file?

Don't know as I have never experienced this.

This whole ini editing does give me a much better framerate, but it does NOT solve the stutter problem. It's much less, but it's still there.
What didnt you get when I said the following in my original post?

EDIT: If anyone wants to understand why this is 2 instead of 7, I will explain this now. While using FRAPS, I noticed when "RENDER_RATE_MODE = 2", its as if it forced FIFA 07 to try and stay at a steady 60fps (very little change, 55-60fps). When "RENDER_RATE_MODE = 7", I noticed it bounce around all over the place, it wasnt doing a good job of keeping a steady framerate (anywhere from 45-85fps), hence why it seems jerky. Remember I am talking about gameplay and not the cutscenes (they seem to run lower not matter what setting).

What's the difference between your fixes and the one suggested by EA?

Some of you may be experiencing noticeable slow downs during cutscenes in the PC version of FIFA 07. This occurs when it detects your PC's hardware as being of a high specification and sets the FIFA 07 display settings to the highest quality. This is fine for the majority of people, however some people will find that their system cannot handle this correctly. You can get around this in two ways:

Changing from High to Medium:

- From the Main Menu choose My FIFA 07

- From this Submenu choose Game Settings

- Now use the arrows at the top to find the "System" settings

- Under the heading "Level of Detail" choose Medium

- Now choose Save Profile at the bottom and confirm

- The problem should now be fixed

For Advanced Users:

This method is only for advanced users that wish to keep the other graphics settings at high while fixing the cut scene frame rate issue.

- Open My Computer and browse to the installation directory of FIFA 07

- Open the following file in Notepad \FIFA 07\data\cmn\cfg_pc_h.ini

- Now find the following two lines in this file:

DISABLE_DOF = 0

DISABLE_POSTFX = 0

- Change these lines to say:

DISABLE_DOF = 1

DISABLE_POSTFX = 1

- Close Notepad saving the file as you do so

- Now start the game again, the issue should be resolved.

You may find that changing only one or the other of these two lines is enough to give you the higher frame rate desired.

First of all thanks a lot to deftonesmx17 for all these. He is a legend

The cutscene solution has been given in fifa Official site, from EA. So i just changed the render from 7 to 2 as the dude said. It works much more smoother, great job defto! But still theres no completely solution, still are few problems with smoothness. I think only ea, who is manufactor, can give a solution.

I tried also the windowed mode, but even if the gameplay works ok, theres some noise inside the game. A trouble that i have also with pes5. Someone told me that this is because TFT monitors cant reach a frame rate, of the rest monitors, or sth like that. So why in fullscreen tha game dont do that noise, unless i window it?

I have edited the LOD for the players bodies and heads for the high detail files (makes them look good far away). I have also made files with the High edited LOD and and the Full-Scene effects turned off (this is what causes most peoples cutscene slowdown and is what EA said to do). I also changed the RENDER_RATE_MODE (the most important change I made and one EA doesnt even suggest) to keep the framerate (gameplay only) more smooth and around 60fps. :ewan:

defto, i tried your patch also, but the blur effect is still in replays and scenes. Can you make one, without that effect, it causes a lot of trouble in cut-scenes.

I am using the "High detail with edited LOD and Full-Scene effects disabled (may help cutscene slowdown)" file you made and it is GREAT! I used to have major problems in cinematics, but now it is a lot smoother. Overall gameplay is smoother as well. Some of the cinematics are still a bit choppy at times, but sooo much better than before. Here is my dxdiag.txt file in case you are interested in knowing what I have under the hood. Thanks a bunch!

Thats because you didnt use the file with Full-Scene effects disabled (depth of field and postfx). :jap:

This is such a ridiculous problem and im pretty pissed bout it :nape:

I mean i paid $80Aus for this game and im reduced to playin like this:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v25/Smudger/FIFA07.jpg

I played FEAR on full effects with my system:
AMD Athlon XP 2100+
1GB RAM
RADEON X800 Pro

And because of EA's negligence in testing my enjoyment in the game is seriously compromised.

I mean ive tried everything, both the patches in this thread and the advice EA gives...but this is the best result ive come up with...a small box in the middle of my screen, from a game that should tax my system about 1/2 of what FEAR did....

Not happy.... :kader:
