You can quit lying about that one right now........... :kader:

Dont be so pedantic.
The point i am making is that the graphical setting i had on FEAR, a game which is far more intensive on the card, were lightyears more than this game allows me.

Sorry, but since my system (which is higher grade than yours) can't play FEAR on full effects, it had to be said. Simply put, don't exaggerate!

FEAR is also a game that was built for the PC. FIFA 07 on the other hand is a port from the xbox version of the game. Don't expect a console port to run great as it wasnt optimized for the PC. :jap:

Granted, but this bug effectively destroys the game for just under half of the PC demographic (those with ATI cards).

Dont get me wrong, i appreciate the efforts you've gone to attempt to fix this issue but it has such a blatent effect in the game that its beyond me that it wasnt picked up before shipment.

I'd be the first to admit that i'm in the "need to upgrade" catagory but of all games that i expected to be unplayable on my PC, FIFA 07, with req's such as they are given by EA, was NOT one of them.

It probably wasnt picked up because EA (being the lazy a$$ developers that they are) tested it on like one GPU and it worked for them, so they just shipped it.

deftone, remember each game behaves differently in ATI or nVidia due to using OpenGL or Direct3D, the game engine and other factors. A game that runs GREAT on ATIs can run slowly on nVidia and viceversa.

Also, to poster above, I have an nVidia card and I have the same problem - thus it is not the chipset or brand what's causing the problems.

Also, I find it HIGHLY unlikely that FIFA uses more graphic-intensive effects in cutscenes than FEAR, Prey or anything like that. It is OBVIOUS the code (or a setting) is not optimized.

Finally, your patch does NOT work with my setup, so there is something obscure going on in there. I'm not saying your patch is wrong, just that the true problem lies in EA hardcodes rather than a configuration file.

its not perfect, as i still have a slight lag in the cut scenes...but its MUCH better...and dare i say i like the cut scences WITHOUT the blur better....

Mine is windowed but it almost look like full screen. The cutscenes run okay in window mode but theirs seems to be some screen tearing as the camera follows the ball. Can anyone help?does any notice it

hope this info will also help

i run this machina
p4 ht 3.0 ghz/intel 945gvn mobo
2gb ddr2 533 mhz ram
geforce 6600 256 mb
--------------------

so u can tell how bad the frames are with fifa 07. but i just happened to be playing around with my nvidia control panel. i checked the 3d settings and saw fifa07.exe in the program settings with anistropic filtering at 8x, antialiasing at 4x. i know my card can never handle that much thrashing, so i turned them both completely off... and i had a very good boost in fifa 07. i only had to disable the depth of field....and then copy all the "lod" settings frm fifa 06 and pasted it over fifa 07 lod settings. i also did the same for RMrain... and also the render_rate_mode was set to 2.... Ever since that my fifa 07 had no slowdown issue ever till now......

my conclusion is even if you have the depth of field and post fx disabled, the game still has those antialiasing and anistropic filtering enabled at high rates... the only way for average card users to overcome frame issues and cutscene slowdown would be to disable it completely...also the lod and RMrain settings from fifa 06 helps run the game at decent speed....

am not an expert at all this, and i could be wrong, but mayb this info might help sum1

I changed the 'render_rate_mode' setting to 2 in all 3 of the 'cfg.ini' files and the 'in-game' choppiness is gone. I've experienced none of the cutscene issues that alot of you are speaking about but the 'in-game' choppiness appears to be resolved with changing the render rate to 2. If you're wondering : A64 3200, 2GB RAM, 6800GS, etc. Thanks for that tip!

None of this has resolved my inability to win or score! I haven't played since FIFA 2002 so I'm a little rusty. My Lazio team is struggling.

Thanks

Adamo

Off topic here, but would be awesome if someone fixed the turf problem where the turfs meet and their is a clear straight line instead of rendered turf.
