Famous Quotes

“Some people believe football is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that." Bill Shankly

"The English club proved that miracles really do exist. I've now made Liverpool my English team. They showed that football is the most beautiful sport of all. The Liverpool supporters didn't let me go to sleep the night before, there were 10 of them to every three Milan supporters. They showed their unconditional support at half-time when they were losing 3-0 and still they didn't stop singing." World Cup legend Diego Maradona who was cheering for Liverpool in Istanbul.

There's not one club in Europe with an anthem like You'll Never Walk Alone. There's not one club in the world so united with the fans. I sat there watching the Liverpool fans and they sent shivers down my spine. A mass of 40,000 people became one force behind their team. That's something not many teams have. For that I admire Liverpool more than anything." Dutch legend Johan Cruyff after Istanbul.

"Liverpool's fans are just amazing. The best feeling I have at away games is Anfield. It is just incredible. I love it. You get goose bumps when you see their supporters sing You'll Never Walk Alone." Arsenal and France star Thierry Henry.

"He's better than Platini, certainly better than Rumminegge and Maradona. For me he is the greatest footballer in the world." Graeme Souness on Kenny Dalglish

"Liverpool without European football is like a banquet without wine." Roy Evans

*YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE

When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of the storm
There's a golden sky
And the sweet silver
Song of a lark.

Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams
Be tossed and blown
Walk on
Walk on

With hope in your hearts
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone.
Walk on
Walk on

All the best for the 2008/2009 season.

It's pretty. Would be hard to leave Anfield, tho.

By the way, anyone who are planning a 3-days in Oslo when Liverpool playing Vålerenga?

This the end of Anfield!!!!!!! how react the supporters???

Obviously it will be dissapointing leaving Anfield, but it is time to move to a bigger stadium. Arsenal did it a few seasons ago and now it's us who have to do it. It was really only a matter of time before this happened. Anfield's capacity is just too small.....

As I said in the post with the pictures, it is expected to be completed in time for the 2011-2012 season. I just hope that by saying construction, we can start talking cement rather than will we won;'t we. The sooner the construction starts, the better..............Portsmouth was supposed to begin construction of their new stadium under Milan Mandaric, a few years ago, but it never got off the ground.

This is a 1-1000 scale model of the stadium:

It looks similar to the batmobile from the most recent batman movie...

Although, it also looks like a giant space-age insect.

So, what do you guys think about us getting Cavalieri from Palmeiras?

He's a pretty decent keeper, and with Carson going to Villa, I think we need backup at that position. Comms here in Brazil say he's good enough to replace Reina, but I doubt it'll happen this season...

i love that new stadium! but should be bigger IMO .. or maybe liverpool dont have enought fans to fill 80.000/90.000 places Oo.

Definitely not going to happen this season, but backup like you said. And its definitely something we need. I'm also pretty excited about that guy we got from Fiorentina...can;t remember his name. He was, supposedly, a hot target....

Meanwhile, the Garreth Barry saga continues with yet another offer being rejected by Aston Villa. If Peter Crouch and Xabi Alonso are overrated, then so is Garreth Barry.

Cavalieri is a top notch keeper, very happy we got him. And if he gets his opportuniy, Reina is going down this season already, trust me.
