Pede54 in case you didn't notice there was also a 6-day break between my post and the next post, you dong.

No. Rafa was pissed at him for playing in the Wales friendly against Brazil, which Rafa told him not to do. Bellamy told him he was going to play anyway so Benitez dropped him as a punishment. I would think that sort of backfired on dear ol' Rafa wouldn't you?

Pede54 I see you must be close with Rafa?

There are no truths whatsoever to those Bellamy rumours. It was purely tactical as Rafa did not wish to go with 4 strikers on an away trip. Crouch has been in tremendous scoring form and who's to argue against Robbie playing in a derby? Also, Everton would have nullified his pace as they now no longer are short in that department with Yobo, Lescott, Neville and Naysmith hardly Hyypiaesque either. Kuyt and Bellamy are, barring any last minute changes, pencilled in to start the PSV game. He's also suffered from knee pains after playing which means that 3 games in a week is asking too much of him. He was told he'd be training in on Friday and took it very well and turned up at the session displaying a high level of commitment as reported by Alex Miller.

Contrary to what the rumour mongers who can't wait to see him implode are keen to imply, he's settled in very well at the club and is a firm favourite with the players, despite his non stop moaning in training which he does with as much relish during competitive games.

@CarlosDanger: I think you're bob on with that assessment mate. Carra didn't look at all comfortable even during the warmup but being a derby and all, his inclusion was a calculated gamble that didn't pay off. Sami is being phased out and I'd expect to see a lot more of Agger alongside Carra this season. That said, having to blood in Aurelio into a back four that hasn't found their groove as yet, it was always going to take time to sort out our defensive frailties.

Good point about Bellamy. I guess there is a little bit of morbid fascination with his failure and of course the media in UK tends to label players (and pretty much any other public figure) and that's it, you're marked for life even if you've grown up and changed a lot.

As for the D, that's exactly what I saw on Saturday. You could really see the communication problems between Sami and Aurelio. I think that just sort of threw off the balance of the whole back line. I would definitely think that Agger is going to be more and more of a first option. Now, as to Finnan, never a rock defensively seems to have really dropped off in the past season or two, or is that just me? How has Paletta looked?

Anybody who watched the match, could you tell me how Carlos Salcido #23 for PSV played?

In the official PSV forum many members are calling him Player of the Match and some have given him the highest ratings....

thanks in advance if your kind enough to answer my question....

Yeah Salcido and Mendez were the best players for psv, the way that Salcido blocked the shot from Kuyt was impressive cause that would've been a sure goal. 0-0 seemed fair both teams were not playing great but Liverpool was a bit better IMO especially Kuyt and Bellamy were both dangerous and Gerrard was brought on way too late by the coach I wonder why  cause he immediately made an impact when he came on, that last shot on the post wooow what a technique :o but Kuyt scraped the post as well with a shot from a distance.

Well, considering our opposition an away draw is a decent result. Now on to getting our act together on the EPL.

YELLOW CARD: Untrustworthy
Yeah, it was a deserved draw for both of them. That gerrard strike that hit the pole was amazing, as was the strike by the PSV player. Still wondering why rafa went with that line-up and bench most of the starters. The commentator had mention something about them being punish because of the loss to everton, but that just may be his opinion.. overall good game.

Steven Gerrard has been seen meeting Accrington officials as they look to thash out personnal terms for the January transfer window. It is speculataled that Accrington goalkeeper and friend of Steven Gerrard, Ian Dunbavin played a large part in attracting the superstar to the Fraser Eagle Stadium.

Could someone please help me?

I want to buy the Liverpool: Road to Istanbul DVD (containing the entire final match plus the highlights of all the matches), but it has to be region 0 (or region 4 - maybe some aussie can help me here? - Is atlantic DVD reliable/trustworthy?). It doesn't matter if it's PAL or NTSC, as I intend to watch it mostly on my PC. The only place I found it was on Liverpoolfc.tv store, but when I placed my order, my credit card was declined (God knows why, I have enough money), and now the item is unavailable.

Amazon.com has it on region 1, amazon.co.uk has region 2

Also, if someone has it in good conditions, I'd take it, if we can sort out how I can pay you (and of course, how much...)

If you can help me, please PM me instead of using this thread

thanks in advance

Back on track on the EPL. Now we need to sort out our away woes and there we go. Kuyt bagged another one today, happy to see him having a good start. New Kezman? No way.

Yes way. Kezman scored a few too during his time here, but missed so many more. How many times did Kuyt waste chances today, was it 3 or 4?...I lost count. Still he has scored 1 more than Sheva this season so I shouldn't say too much I suppose.....hehhehehehehehee

Tom

That Nice Guy
i see what you mean Pete, but i think Kuyt will be fine with the amount he makes himself, and his general work rate.

Upfront we should be ok, Fowler cant even get on the bench and he isnt "bad".

It's still at the back where we look so incredibly shaky, Sami is starting to look 50.
