i've tried everything to lob the keeper but i just cant do it!! even wen i press square my player just crosses the ball, even when there is no one else there!!

but it is possible to trick him if your quick enough. just as hes about to come out of the goal and grab the ball, you can quickly change direction. and then you can walk the ball straight into the goal - he wont be fast enough to catch you up.

I just discovered that trick last night by accident, actually. I had a breakaway and was in the clear and the keeper charged out of his goal. In a panic, I changed directions, and the keeper slid right past the attacker. My guy then proceeded to pass the ball into the open goal. :rockman:

I lobbed the keeper from just outside the box with crespo. I was on the counter attack and passed the ball to crespo who was through on goal. There was no one around me and the keeper rushed out, I went for the lob and the keeper watched the ball fly over his head. It was class!

Don't people bother reading the intstruction manuals anymore???:rolleyes: :rolleyes: square + L1 gives you a high lob. I wouldn't use those when you're in close. square + R1 is the low lob

L1 + Square when you have some distance between you and the keeper.
Double tap square if you are going right at him in close. (make sure to turn this option on though in the controller menu)

Nothing like scoring with a 25 yard ship of the caught-out goalie.

Can you tell me, specifically, where you turn this option on at? I'm playing the PS1 version of the game and have yet to find it.

That's your problem... the PS2 version has slightly different controls ;)

Finally! Somebody confirms what I thought was true all along.

So I'm also guessing that the 1/4 and 3/4 dash buttons don't work either (L1 and R2 respectively)? Can someone please confirm this? I've asked several times in other threads and they just get ignored.

Right, I'm familiar with both of those, but two additional dashes are listed on the PES 2 control list over at www.evo-web.co.uk.

L1 = 1/4 paced slow jog - fast response, no jump
R2 = 3/4 paced dash - can't shoot/long pass

I've never seen a noticeable difference in speed when holding either of these buttons, which led me to assume they weren't available on the PS1 version. I'm looking for someone to confirm this!

hum maybe i´m just not an ace but i can´t do it when i get to the box the keeper comes out i try to lob it but the ball goes over the bar

i do a lob by double-tapping the shot button twice! but u have to enable it in the controls menu! i also use the L1+shot button combination! but only if i'm far away from the goalkeeper!

i recommend that u just enable double tapping shoot button! so it's very easy to chip the ball over the keeper! but it's all about timing, as so many things in WE6FE (PES2)!!!

i hope i help u guys...
