Logitech Dual Action USB gamepad.

I'm using fifa 2003 to play against friends on a xbox. But I practice on my pc. I am using a Logitech Dual Action gamepad. By default button 5 (left button) is the "deep pass" and button 4 (left thunb button) is "player run". I want to switch these two but it wont let me. When I do it in the game settings it seems ok but doesn't work. The gamepad remains at its default settings. And doing the tricks that are posted earlier (editing files) doesn't work either. In "my documents/fifa 2003" the config file still says: NO "Logitech Dual Action USB".

Did anyone figured this thing out yet?
