Los Clásicos: Real Madrid vs Barcelona [P+R]

"No history" might be an understatement. But you're saying that next time Messi does something like that you'll be the first to call him a prima donna?

Of course not. A second incident might say something about his temper, but it doesn't make him a prima donna. Ronaldo reputation comes from his pouty face, standing with his hands on his hips while the game is still going on, not celebrating with his teammates when somebody other than himself scores, etc.

If what I said is an understatement, I'd like to hear more examples of bad behavior from Messi.

How does that compare to striking the ball against the opposition's supporters?

They're very different, which is why I don't understand why you're trying to equate Messi's one act of frustration to Ronaldo's personality.

Messi is a douche. This isn't the first time either. Not to mention I'd take Ronaldo's personality over attacking the fans for no reason.

I wonder how that was not a yellow? If I remember right Gary Neville got a red for the exact same thing not too long ago.

Pepe was a monster.

Worked up the pride to come here after a tie?

The kick by Messi was bizarre and stupid, but I don't think it was malicious. I think he was just frustrated and wanted to boot the ball. I'm not going to bother convincing you guys of that though.

As with Fili, I welcome you to give other examples of Messi being unsportsmanlike.

And Pepe was a monster in many senses of the word.

Looking forward to the CL matches... again Barca is facing Mourinho in the semi finals. This time Guardiola should find the right receip to actually beat Real.

And maybe there is finally a ref who actually shows pepe directly a red card after a hard attack... he's often unnecesserily hard in his duells.

Oh so because it's Messi, he was just frustrated. See what I meant?

Look I'm not apologizing Ronaldo, he's definitely got his ego; but that doesn't mean other players don't do it too. And particularly Messi seems to have this aura around him that you can't say anything bad about him because he's good at kicking a ball. Everyone makes mistakes, I'm not even saying Messi isn't a "nicer" guy than Ronaldo, but when he does something like that and you say "he was frustrated" or "show me another thing he's done", I mean... First of all, of course he was frustrated, and of course that was the reason why he did it, it doesn't make it right. Secondly, you're asking me to Google "Messi misbehaving" or something? I don't care if he's been a Saint all his life up until that point - it was a stupid thing to do.

Thank you, agree with everything you said. It's like Messi is what Tiger Woods was before his scandal broke out. If this was Ronaldo, the baby eater who did it, the media would be calling for his head but because its Messi it's ok. He' just frustrated LOL I wonder if he kicks the ball like that everytime he has a frustrating game.

Also in terms of unsportsmanlike character from Messi, off the top of my head there is this one, attempted headbutt at a player, the intentional handball goal vs Espanyol, a slapping incident with another player if I remember right and that's just off the top of my head. Yeah, a real saint that Messi is.

Are you serious? If anything the only other player to have gotten another red should have been Dani Alves since the penal was called on him but I don't see how Pepe deserved a red....at all.

If you play like a bitch, Pepe will run you over. :D

Let's see how long you'll stick around. And I think we all know what it really looks like when Pepe runs you over.

Pepe was very agressive but he was fair as well.

Poor Messi... He's innocent, Messi would never hurt someone, he's so kind and nice. Just wanted to do a sombrero but he kicked the ball too hard. If it was Ronaldo i bet he wanted to put the ball in the face of someone, because he's Ronaldo, and he can do that. Now Messi's impossible.

I prolly won't be around too long, most likely won't see me again after today. Full time school, work, and a kid to look over leaves little time to do anything else really.

Nah, Pepe only runs over douches wearing ugly ass jerseys as shown below. ;P

Apparently Pique also started screaming obscenities at some of the Madrid players going down the town after the game ended. Looks like both he and Messi are suffering from sexual frustration what with Messi failing to woo a girl and Pique has been missing Ibra too long apparently. I wonder how these every so classy Unicef wearing players could even get frustrated and do such a thing.

I'm saying that not all bad behavior equals "prima donna." Ronaldo has also let his frustration get the best of him in some nasty red card incidents, but these don't make him a prima donna. It is the reasons that I have cited earlier that do. I would not call Messi a prima donna for booting a ball, just like you would never call Pepe a prima donna for this:

Anger issues? Maybe. Prima donna? Hell no.

Do you get it now, or do I need to explain this total non-issue yet another way?

I see you haven't matured any since you've been gone.

Pique is dating Shakira and Messi is engaged to a hottie...
