Make America Great Again
Hey, I'm going to buy some jeans and I haven't worn blue jeans in about 8 years, so I have no idea what I'm looking for. I know I can go for the expensive designer ones and I found a place in Milwaukee that sells them, but do you guys know of any cheaper alternatives that look basically the same?

Also, what kind of belt goes with jeans?

Shinji, where did you get the white on white AF1's and how expensive are they?

William, if you are looking for a winter Carlos*et, I'd go with a The North Face or a Burton winter Carlos*et.

Either a distressed or plain brown leather belt with a simple buckle would look great with jeans. I personally, hate the studded belt and/or big buckle look but it can look alright on some people...

At the moment, the "in" thing is dry denim...eventualy each jean becomes unique due to wear and fading of the denim. The downside to dry denim is that it it will shrink after the first wash/soak so you have to size up usually (there isn't a set guide, as each jean shrinks differently). A number of companies make really good denim, like Earnest Sewn, Rag & Bone but they tend to be a bit pricy, a cheaper alternative would be Lee, for example this 101z I think looks great:

There's also Levi's premium Capital E line but I don't really like the quality of the denim. Japanese denim is also huge at the moment, for example Sugarcanes are really good quality jeans for a reasonable price...the only problem is finding somewhere that stocks them with most people importing them from Japan.

Finally, a word of warning when picking jean fit...the trend at the moment is for skinny jeans but they only look good on someone who's been in a concentration camp.

EDIT: Found this Levi's 30% discount on another forum but it's only valid for today, might be of use to you:

when it comes to jeans I just get plain old GAP/Old Navy one's...or I'll get some pre-worked in one's from thrift stores. To me most jeans look pretty much the same, I could never justify getting a 300 dollar pair that once I put them on look just like an old pair of GAP's

I always just see pants as the neutral part of any outfit, I'm more into shoes and Carlos*ets

Thanks man.

I already sorta knew that North Face was quite big in the U.S. since most american tourist/college kids I see here in Italy during winter time tend to wear NF Carlos*ets.

I dunno man, had mine for a year and a half and they still look pretty new (they aren't my main pair of shoes though).. besides, they're leather so they wipe off easily with a wet rag..

those mesh Adidas posted above would get dirty quick though..

Just bought a pair on ebay for $51 including shipping. Probably just going to wear them when I'm out to impress, not as an every day shoe.

Like all popular Nelly songs, it might be one of the worse pieces of music ever created, but I still love it.

I'm not a fan either, every time I go into a H&M store in London, it looks like a bomb's gone off inside with clothes all over the floor, which is quite off-putting plus I've never been a fan of their designs and cuts. Saying that, the quality of H&M designs across the Atlantic seems to be heading in the right direction, I especially like this Carlos*et from their upcoming Autumn/Winter range:

More than likely, we probably won't get it over here, which is a pity :(
