Barca and Bayern don't have a player that can find you anywhere on the field. Your thinking is much too rigid with a traditional school of thought that to win you need a midfielder who can defend and a midfielder who can attack. Maybe you watched too much of Ancelotti's diamond formation and now think that its the only way to go? Ferguson has proven time and time again that you don't need a good tackling midfielder, and if you think that United's success was strictly down to individualistic brilliance of its forwards, then you haven't watched nearly enough United games to comment about our tactics.

Also...Xavi: In the last 15 to 20 years the best central midfielder that I have seen — the most complete — is Scholes. I have spoken with Xabi Alonso about this many times. Scholes is a spectacular player who has everything. He can play the final pass, he can score, he is strong, he never gets knocked off the ball and he doesn’t give possession away. If he had been Spanish then maybe he would have been valued more.

There is not much need to prove here, our success speaks for itself.

Yeah, Scholes is much better a passer at 50-something than Xavi, Iniesta, Thiago, Kroos, Schweinsteiger, Cesc, Martinez...

Scholes is better than all of them.

Evra contract extension is excellent news. He definitely improves the atmosphere in the dressing room. Moron M*yes was gonna get rid of him for free.

- Xavi

My toughest opponent? Scholes of Manchester. He is the complete midfielder.
- Zinedine Zidane

Rooney is one of the best players in the world and I love watching him play. But if you had to pick out only one, then for their history and for all that they have achieved it would have to be Paul Scholes or Ryan Giggs. They are two shining examples for any player.
- Andres Iniesta

I’m not the best, Paul Scholes is.
- Edgar Davids, in his prime

Out of everyone at Manchester United, I would pick out Scholes – he is the best midfielder of his generation. I would have loved to have played alongside him.
- Pep Guardiola

I have no hesitation in putting a name to the embodiment of all that I think is best about football. It’s Paul Scholes. Players like Denis Law and George Best who I enjoyed so much as team-mates and now, finally, players I have watched closely in the Alex Ferguson era. And in so many ways Scholes is my favourite. I love his nous and conviction that he will find a way to win, to make the killer pass or produce the decisive volley.
- Sir Bobby Charlton

The player in the Premiership I admire most? Easy – Scholes.
Patrick Vieira
He is the one whose level I aspire to. He is the best player in the Premier League.
- Cesc Fabregas

I can’t understand why Scholes has never won the player of the year award. He should have won it long ago. Maybe it’s because he doesn’t seek the limelight like some of the other ‘stars’.
- Thierry Henry

Why isn’t he playing for England? It is crazy. Only in England. Scholes is a great, great player. So experienced and still, for me, one of the best in the world in midfield. Manchester United are lucky to have him.
- Jose Mourinho

Scholes is undoubtedly the best midfielder of his generation.
- Zinedine Zidane

He is a very complete, spectacular footballer. He always fights for the ball and tries to lose his marker to help his team-mates – either to defend or to have a shot on goal. For any football player in the Premiership, Scholes is a player you want to emulate. I would happily end my career with the medals that Scholes has. I am young and I hope that I will be able to surpass him – but it is not going to be easy.
- Cesc Fabregas

England have lost their best player
- George Best after Paul retired from international football

For years Paul Scholes has been one of the best players in the Premiership. He’s incredible. He has always been under-rated throughout his career. He’s a team player, a one and two-touch footballer who makes good decisions on the pitch and makes his team play.
- Thierry Henry

Anyway help was implying Scholes had a 100% pass success rate and 100% ball retention and recovery

The point of the argument is not to debate how good a player Scholes once was in the 90s and early 2000s. We're going on about how Ferguson essentially sacrificed a legit world class talent in Pogba for an extra season of Paul Scholes, harming United more in the long run and causing them to attempt to cover up their mistake by buying trash like Fellaini. This isn't even like the Piqué situation, this is worse!

This post had absolutely nothing to do with Pogba:

Van Gaal not really wanting him but unable to sell him because no-one is willing to match his wages and Rooney wont take a pay cut, therefore VG is forced to play him out of position, Rooney plays like shit and acts like a dick in the dressing room, atmosphere at Old Trafford goes sour, Rio Ferdinand tweets how LvG failed to "win the dressing room", bad times for United.
Giggs takes over pt. 2
And then Man Utd fail to reach CL and manager gets sacked early pt 3...
I want all of this ...
