Why would Barry leave Villa for City? Makes no sense. It would make sense if it was Liverpool or Man U, but this is just weird. He grew up at Villa.

Good signing. Makes you wonder how you could get Barry for the same price that Wayne Bridge cost us... :(

I'm guessing now that we're gonna do some off-loading then. Elano?

They either lost him now for 12M or next season for nothing. It was a good move on both parts, Barry seems interested in what we're doing here... So interested he signed for 5 years in fact.

Anywho, I've been sitting here trying to figure our what our formation would look like next season, and the most logical explanation is that Barry replaces Kompany in central midfield while Kompany goes back to CB.

Given
Zabaleta Kompany Dunne Bridge
De Jong
Ireland Barry
SWP-----------------Robinho
Bellamy

Dunne can be replaced by Onouha or Micah, while I wouldn't mind seeing a new LB instead of Bridge. We have about 14 strikers on the fringes who can fill in for Bellamy as well. Plus Elano and Petrov on the bench to strengthen the midfield.

I think I'm just gonna give it a rest until the transfer window closes, much easier solution.

Oh, and I just heard Sturridge is signing for Chelsea? If so, good move, dip****. If you couldn't win a spot with us, what makes you think you're even gonna see the field at the Bridge?

that because we have a dumbass manager who doesnt know how to do his job who brought his ****ty ass staff from bburn and made the players worse

Well a rich guy from Middle East bought Real Betis before the end of the season and they said "We can try a billion euro in this summer via oil money" But they relegated :(

Ahh then I saw the interview that Hughes was happy after his team got Barry and I thought Hughes's happiness will disappear soon.
Also City is linked with Luisao and Oscar Cardozo(Both Benfica).

Tevez by the end of the weekend. Calling it now since he seems to want to spite Man Utd (H)

Ze Roberto's a great player but do we really need a 34 year old or whatever he is?

He'd be a decent squad player. He can play all over the midfield, but don't expect him to be anything more than a versatile, expensive, backup.

You had hamann when he was 36 so i don't see why Ze would be any different. He will be fine i guess but anything longer than a 1 year deal would probably be too much. The EPL is pretty physical.

ze roberto i 1000000000 times better than hamann hamann was never a really good player.

plus hes brazilian would go well wit the other brazilians also Jo is returning from loan a better player.

hiddink is only temp manager and what has hiddink done? NOTHING. Chelsea will probably be worse with hiddink.

And if we give mark hughes another year our team will be a complete disaster or not even as close as it could be with a proper manager. Scolari wasn't ready yet to manage a club as big as chelsea and with such high expectations. He needs to start off at a club like city and work his way up. Bottom line Scolari would be better than Hughes for sure.

Hughes has screwed up 1201201210 times and proved he cant manage. Last team he managed is like dead last now form his ****** managing. Now City are doing much worse than SGE did.

May I just point everybody to post #442 on page 30 which kicks off a stunning string of statements and predictions from our buddy TLS. It culminates with this fantastic rationalization for why Hiddink's European Cup win clearly proves that he's not a good manager. It's even better in hindsight than it was as the time now that Hiddink basically walked into Chelsea, immediately turned the club around, and could probably demand daily blow jobs from John Terry and get them at this point.

won European cup. So tons of managers who aren't that well recognised win that trophy all the time. Not that big of accomplishment.

Going back to the beginning of the competition, here are the only managers who "aren't that well recognized" who have won the Champions League:

Pep Guardiola: 2009
Frank Rijkaard: 2006
Raymond Goethals: 1993
Ljupko Petrović: 1991
Artur Jorge: 1987
Emerich Jenei: 1986
Joe Fagan: 1984
Tony Barton: 1982
Dettmar Cramer: 1975, 1976
Ştefan Kovács: 1972, 1973
Nereo Rocco: 1963, 1969
Miguel Muñoz: 1960, 1966
Luis Carniglia: 1958, 1959

Funny how facts always get in the way huh? And what's more is that 7 of these 13 guys are dead. And what's even more is that a lot of these are extremely arguable as to whether they should even be on this list. Of the 54 titles won, only 18 come from managers who "aren't that well recognized", and only 3 in the last 20 years. These types of managers win the Champions League "all the time" indeed.

Can't get enough of this Man City talk.
