This is how we will start the EPL season:

August
17 – Swansea (A)
24 – Chelsea (H)
31 – Liverpool (A)

September
14 – Crystal Palace (H)
21 – Manchester City (A)
28 – West Brom (H)

Big test for Moyes.

Meh, we have to play them some time... Doesn't really matter. It's not like it'll be a completely new United team. Almost all of them will have experience in those matches.

That's a nightmare opening fixture. You don't want to start off on a bad foot, that could defeat your confidence for the easier games and if United are midtable going into December, Moyes is gone.

Really? Do you really think Moyes would get sacked if such a scenario happened? It was Ferguson who has given him his blessing.

Are you really surprised? Moyes has been in the game for ages. Of course he hasn't got experience at a top club, but he doesn't need anyone to hold his hand while he settles in, at least not in such a capacity.
And I also doubt that Moyes would get sacked if we don't do well this season. On top of that, whilst there is a chance that we could drop some points during the opening 5 matches, there's also a chance to do well and set up a great season.

Absolutely, fans will be calling for him to leave. Ferguson's case was different, with new manager United fans will be just like everybody else's. City and Chelsea wouldn't tolerate mid-table in December and neither would we.

I think that De Gea was just joking with Thiago. Anyway, he said that in 2011:

"I would be lying if I said that my dream is to succeed at Barca," he told EFE. "My dream is to succeed in football. I want to be a player who people remember forever."

He will face stiff competition for the next few years at Barca with Iniesta and Fabregas being at their prime and Xavi still near his best. At United he would be a guaranteed starter every game.

Sir Didier Drogba

Head Official
He wants to play in a more advanced role though, whereas both Chelsea and United would prefer to employ him in the deeper position. He is a bit like Fellaini in this regard. However, United I suspect would be more willing to accommodate him.

There were even some reports saying that he had already agreed some personal terms with Utd or something, but i think that's just tabloid bullshit.
Anyway a player with his calibre deserves to play every match and if were a Barça fan i wouldn't blame him for leaving with Xavi and co being in his way. The world cup is coming up next year as well and i'm pretty sure he would like to prove himself even more and make the squad.
But yeah i'd love to see him in Utd.

What to make of the Thiago rumours? There seem to be a lot of talk in papers but nothing from more credible sources like Skysports or BBC yet which make me doubt these rumours.

If it's not mentioned on Sky sports or United's websites, then it's just rumours.

Fergie has 3 days left as United manager before Moyes takes the reins... #ThankYouSirAlex

Apparently we've had a 10m bid for Baines rejected, although we might go back with an improved offer. Regarding Thiago, I reckon the negotiations are probably in full swing with Barca & United trying to convince him of staying or going. I'm not that optimistic and could even see Bayern or some other team getting involved and signing him which is what happened with Lucas Moura last season.
Also read that Ronaldo is to have talks with United soon, though I don't see that happening.
