He's been injured for a while actually. Expected to be back soon though.

No way Rooney would leave for Real. Vidic said several times that he doesn't like Manchester but I'm sure he'll wait until the end of his contract (2012 I think) to make a decision.

No, I don't think Rooney will leave. And I don't think Vida would be allowed to run down his contract either - United will sell him either this summer or next.

Nani, injured or not I think is on the way out, he just hasn't delivered on the potential we know he has. I really hope he can come back and prove otherwise because I think he can be a brilliant player.

Angel Di Maria keeps being mentioned, I don't know much about him, but I would say it's a gamble. Come the summer I would much prefer either Ashley Young or Aaron Lennon - both proven Premiership players.

Also there's the increasing speculation about Benzema, so perhaps we could include him in a Real deal for Vida.

Hopefully now the injuries are receeding, United can be more settled and get back to top form. But I still think next summer will be very important - I can see some big activity happening.

I went on teamtalk.com and the messages from fans of other clubs in respect to Edwin are brilliant and touching - in times like this it's important to realise just how insignificant football is in the grand scheme of things.

By the way it's being reported as a brain haemmorrage, not a stroke.

Hemorrhage in the brain can cause a stroke i.e a hemorrhagic stroke.

Hope things will get better for her... Its a life threatening condition.

Fantastic performance. Played like champions. Rafael rooney and valencia stood out. Now hopefully we will keep the momentum going.

15 goals for Rooney at the break, that is quite a haul.

Maybe there is hope for the league after all. I am cautiously optimistic now.

This is the United I want to watch week in week out. Great performance especially Rooney, Valencia and Rafael. Valencia was involved in all 5 goals I think and Rooney hit the woodwork twice... The first one would've been a terrific goal had it gone in.

By the way Fergie said that O'shea could be out for a couple of months now. However we got Rafael and Neville available for RB already and Ferdinand and Evans coming back within 10 days. Nothing to be worried about at the moment.

Well Fergie has always been able to cope with departures of key players in the past e.g Beckham, Ruud, Cantona etc thats why I wasn't that worried when Ronaldo and Tevez left, even though this time it was the world player of the year who left. We are playing a different football without Ronaldo and its been effective so far. I hope it continues like this.

We've gone from a 3-0 defeat to a 3-1 win to a 5-0 win within 11 days... Signs that we are getting back to our best again as our defenders come back from injury.

On MUTV last night they showed the best United goals of the decade and I found myself looking whistfully at the pace and attacking potency United were exhibiting. I found myself wondering where it had gone.

At midnight last night (thanks to Sky showing Arsenal) I got the answer, United can still do it.

Okay it was a ropey Wigan side, but last night the real Manchester United stood up at last. Rafael was a revelation at right back and deserved his goal, Wazza was different class and with luck could have netted a hat-trick. Valencia continues to improve and Fletcher was restored to the engine room. Berba took his goal well and looked more involved than at Hull.

On the evidence of last night, United can still be as devestating as ever - the trick is now to keep the momentum going. Can we now go on a run of victories? well I would say with a full squad back - then yes, we can.

Happy new year to all United fans, and what a Hogmanay / Birthday present for Fergie.

Happy new year guys. yeah, lets see some more trophies at Old Trafford.

Rooney's on top form. He played so well against Wigan and was unlucky to score just one goal, he hit the bar twice, It's a shame that the first one didn't go through.

I'm really impressed by Valencia's performance as well. He scored 7 goals so far and assisted more than 5, that's amazing. +10 goals would be an amazing achievement for him.

It's good to see Rio and Da Silva Brothers back as well.

The midfield belongs to Anderson, Fletcher and Carrieck. no scholes plzzzzz.

Berba scored two goals during last two games and he plays with more confidence now. that's great.

I'm really to see the current form, hope they can keep it.

I can't believe what's going on at Old Trafford.

Terrible performance by the team especially Neville, Welback and Oberton. It's time for Fergie to realize that Neville is finished and Wellback has no future.

I think Obertan is very overrated. Always thought he was. Only thing he has is speed. He cannot pass or cross. Very very ineffective on the right wing. I don't like Welbeck on the wing as well. He's a striker not a winger. And the goal was thanks to a defensive mix-up between Brown and Kuszczak. I hope Fergie makes some changes to the midfield soon, coz that midfield is not productive at all. Too young and inexperienced.

rubbish 1st half performance. Leeds want it more than us. Seems that everytime we go a goal behind, we struggle to come back.
