wigan 3 chelsea 1... at the moment :icon_spin: who saw that coming. And another great game by the welsh wizard. 1 in a million, cant believe he's 35. I wonder how many more years we got him for? How old was teddy when he retired? I think he was still playing for a prem team in his 40's.

cmc211

Starting XI
At first half, we suffered from Stoke's defensive play.
Giggs rocks. He's a definite hero which means that whole game changed by him.

Now we're in 1st place of league. (H)

Chelski done by Wigan? Who'd have thunk it.

Didn't see the game as I live in England and we don't get the 3 O'Clock kickoffs on TV on Saturdays (something to do with the licensing agreement)

And Aldershot did Cheltenham 4-1 too - good day for football :)

Wolfsburg next... not looking forward to that. Will be a hard game, got a horrible feeling.

Why? All they did is just dominate the German league, like anybody cares about that league these days.

A very professional display by United. Patient build up and some decent passing on display.

Stoke never really bothered the defense and Delap's long throws aren't a novelty anymore. Vidic at back was rock solid.

But Nani, what a waste he is becoming. Yes there are days when he shows something brilliant but more often than not he is a liability. Nani is playing like this because he is trying to fill Ronaldo's shoes.. The sooner he realizes that he should be playing his strengths, the better. He is a wonderful crosser of the ball, but he has a 10 year olds mentality and he goes on himself instead of trying to pass. He was **** and his replacement was like pure magic. Two brilliant assists and Berbatov, that's where you should be, in the six yard box, not trying fancy controls over at the half way line. Rooney was subdued and Valencia was pretty lively. In my opinion, Nani joined united 2-3 seasons too late, because then SAF could have had a bigger influence on his mentality and decision making.

Scholes' seriously needs to be subbed off at around the hour mark every game he plays, he's too risky. :D Anyway, Good performance, three points well deserved.

We are now top of the table after Chelsea's rather surprising 3-1 defeat at the JJB. With the next two games at home to Sunderland and Bolton and Chelsea entertaining Pool, we should capitalize to continue our awesome start to the season.

I couldn't work out if you were being sarcastic or not there :innocent_smile_1:.

Will be a hard game though. There teams on fire.

They have had an amazing season and equalled the bundesliga record of 10 successive victories and also for the first time had two strikers score more then 20 goals. They scored 54 between them. :icon_spin:

That teams on a high, with a great record and the players to match. I guess its the going into the unknown with them too, the dark horse that has me rattled.

Dzeko one of there two star strikers that did so well last season has had a slow start. Grafite on the other hand scored a hat trick last week.

They got martins now too. He's a good player, wasted at Newcastle. scored 2 in 5 so far.

Starting XI
Nani is so frustrating to watch. His decision making and final ball are both sh*t. Giggs came on and within minutes produced something that Nani couldn't during the entire time when he was on the pitch.

Agreed. I'm losing my patience with Nani and it seems like he's frustrating Sir Alex as well...I can see him leaving at the end of the season if he doesn't manage to improve.

Dont know what to make of nani. sometimes he looks great then other times...

Forgot to mention bloody saha... sods law. 7 in 7 for him now I think. Quality player, wish we had kept him. Well good luck to him... hope he doesn't get injured.

cfdemarco

Reserve Team
Can't believe Valencia didn't score at 7 minutes.

Giggs, how is he still this good after all these years? That man has found the fountain of youth.

for some reason I can never get sopcast streams to load! It will go up to about 50 (max) and won't load any further. It's really frustrating.

I guess your firewall is blocking it. Can you use other p2p softwares like limewire or ares?

Talking about Nani.. He's been disappointing but he still got the talent. He should be given more time IMO instead of getting rid of him. With the talent he's got, he could become a great player. He just needs to get more mature and improve in his decision making.

nahh it's not firewall...I can do other things fine and the stream loads fine up until one point but won't go any further. I get a very chopped up image/sound...

As far as Nani, that's the thing isn't it? I mean you say he "just" needs to mature and improve his decision making but those two are HUGE factors that can make or break a player. a LOT of people have great technical talent but don't have the mind to go along with it.

No man, i wasn't. Bundesliga has went downhill and so did Bayern. Or the other leagues just got way better, but somebody that dominates the German league and scores week in week out there just doesn't scare me that much. I'm sure they are a good team, but how many times have we heard all those great teams dominating their league and then coming to United and ******* up? Over the years, the only real teams that I remember giving us trouble are the ones that weren't doing that well in their league and were just able to raise their game a lot. Strikers is last thing i would worry about, we got the best defense in the world, the only thing i would be worried is our own strikers having an off day.

BTW, so does it mean that Manchester United are nothing but a mediocre team without Ryan Giggs now? Just curious, Chelsea, Pool, Arsenal fans?

Good point... but, they are the underdogs, first time in the champions league. They have everything to gain and prove. I wouldn't be surprised if they played like it was the final.

There again maybe we will destroy them ala Roma.
