Nani is talented but playing ****...his has no vision currently , maybe with more game time it'll change? i dont know.

its getting embarassing cause giggs is saving us all the time...we need a quality winger and for us to win the champions league and league we cant do with what nani has to offer currently.

with Liverpool scoring 6 goals yesterday im getting scared becuase i dont think our midfield is strong without Ronaldo...people will say we winning so what? so what? what if Giggs gets injured? Then what are we going to do....Nani needs to get sent down to Reserves and start working his ass off.

but i got good news :) Gabriel Obertan will be back soon and oh boy that guy will cause havoc!!!!

nani was putting in good performances up until yest against stoke. He reverted to the old nani. I am sure he will come good. Hes got alot of potential. Giggs is on drugs or what. At 36, he is still one of the best in the league.

BTW, so does it mean that Manchester United are nothing but a mediocre team without Ryan Giggs now? Just curious, Chelsea, Pool, Arsenal fans?

I think it should trouble you that Scholes and Giggs are consistently being referred to as your saviours by pundits. They've been your top performers several times this season. And you're also struggling in goal without Van der Sar. That's a lot of reliance on 3 guys in their mid-30's. But I think the worst thing is the reliance on Rooney. If he gets injured I'd say you're screwed.

Every team has an off-day, and payers they rely on, but I think that out of the Top 4, you're 2nd/3rd, behind Liverpool and maybe Arsenal.

I think its down to what pundits do. Giggs, scholes and VDS are literally legends of the sports. There not many players with more experience then they. Of course there going to be key factors and get mentioned a lot when they play.

It wasn't that long ago last season when everyone was at ryans throat, when he had a below average streak, saying he was past it etc. We still did fine then.

There been many games where each of them are injured though and we still win. We have great depth in our squad which will only improve as players return from injury.

Doom-mongering, the teams fine.

but...we're already screwed! We've sold Ronaldo! He was the player we couldn't do without!

Why is it embarrassing? Would it be embarrassing if a 17 year old was saving us all the time? It doesn't matter what age a player is as long as they perform.

And who cares if Liverpool scored 6 goals? They did it against the worst team in the league. We scored 5 against Wigan.

People are being way too negative about everything.

Agreed. I'm losing my patience with Nani and it seems like he's frustrating Sir Alex as well...I can see him leaving at the end of the season if he doesn't manage to improve.

I reckon Obertan was bought for that very reason, along with Zoran Tosic. And we have Adem Laljic arriving in January too. Nani was doing well but seems to have slipped - I wonder if the pressure of everyone expecting him to replicate CR is getting to him?

The one good thing is his workrate and eagerness to get the ball is still there.

And how did Antonio miss?

Nani is trying to be Ronaldo when he really should try to be Giggs.

Or himself, that would be good, too.

Yeah. For me Nani always looked like trying to imitate Ronaldo. In his moves shots and etc.

As I said, I think he's got it in his head he has to be another Cristiano, hopefully he'll realize that it's best to play his own game.

It is always better to think of the player as great when is he performing somewhere else. The fact is, when he was with us he could not be up to the mark, for a variety of reasons, with his injury being of foremost concern. I feel it was better for him to go, when he did.

I donno about that, from 2005 to 2007 he pretty much scored in 50% of his games. Quality player. We could do with a 6fter like him. Now compare with the player a lot of you guys think was amazing in tevez who scored around the same amount of goals but played a damn sight more games. *edit* (comparing that 05-07 two year period with Teves two years.)

Pitty he was so injury prone. It does seem odd though almost as soon as he leaves Manchester his fitness improves? Maybe the rumours that he wasn't mentally right with his fitness were true. Or perhaps because he's on a pay as you play contract he has had to pluck up the courage to play.

Well of course the argument is there that had Louis stayed fit and in form, we'd have never bought Tevez!

Nice to see him doing well, sometimes United just doesn't suit a player - look at Diego.

Absolute nonsense he was always good even when he was here and He also could've stayed at least till he was 32. Variety of problems?? His only problems were injuries lad!!

Anyhow, Fletcher has now become world class and Carrick the man who likes to play hide n seek is a sub. Good stuff. Fletcher would definetly have made a difference in Rome.

I made a post earlier and I don't where the hell is that!!!!

anyway, It's so funny how people critisize United to rely on Giggs Assits.

About Nani's performance, he played decent matches against Birmingham and Wigan. He played well against Arsenal when he came in as well. I think Stoke match was the only match which he played poor.

I have no idea whatsoever about Oberton and I hope Tosic show his talents this year. I believe Sir Alex will bring David Silva if Nani, Oberton and Tosic don't impress him.

It feels great to back on top again ....

United Forever

Please finish this Saha disscussion, he was a great player for us but we have bigger concerns to talk about at the moment ...

VDS hasn't played this season and we are top of the league. Sure Foster made some mistakes and probably Kuzschack should be playing, but both of them have played maybe like 10-15 games each in total in the last 2 seasons, confidence and experience will build for whoever has to replace VDS. We were told we rely too much on Beckham, too much on Van Nistelrooy, too much on Ronaldo, yet we are still up there. What happened? Oh right, Scholes and Giggs, surely once they are gone we are gonna drop to 4th place, no? Or are we?

Scholes and Giggs will be missed when they retire for sure. Its near the end of the 1992 era, and this could signal the start of a new era.

In terms of potential, we definitely stand in a good position... We've got a blend of young players and old players. If you look at Chelsea or Liverpool, they don't have as much potential as we have. We've got a better academy than Chelsea and Liverpool which could bear its fruits in the future.

I believe Giggs and Scholes still have a couple of years in them so when its time for them to go, hopefully the young players breaking through the first team would have matured already to challenge the top. Not to forget that we still got 64 millions from the Ronaldo money, so we could see more players coming in in the near future. Nothing to worry about at all.
