Manchester United 2-2 Sunderland ( Match review )

Ratings:

Man Utd-
Foster: 5/10 - Was shocking, needs to go, get Kuszack on, Foster isn't upto it.
O'Shea: 6/10 - Didn't do much at all, too slow and poor crosses.
Vidic: 6/10 - Tried, but Jones was to big and good for him, had trouble with Bent and Jones.
Evra: 7/10 - Probably our best player for the game, defended well and attacked with great pace, got the vital equaliser.
Nani: 4/10 - Don't know what to say anymore, so dissapointed, his last year for sure.
Scholes: 5/10 - Didn't control the ball, poor passing, a very average game.
Fletcher: 4/10 - Same as Scholes, poor passing, never controlled the midfield, too many mistakes.
Welbeck: 5/10 - Tired his best, couldn't do too much with the way the whole team was playing.
Berbatov: 7/10 - Great goal to make it 1-1, but had a poor game apart from that goal, gave the ball away far too often and slows the game down all the time.
Rooney: 3/10 - An absolute disgrace, worst game i have ever seen him play, something is wrong, is in really bad form.
Good first post. Welcome!
Didn't see the game today, so I can't argue with your assessment of the players, but I was under the impression that up until today, rooney was actually in a very good vein of form. Anyway, postgame quotes seem to suggest that no one was happy with their performances today, so with any luck, this near-loss will light a fire under their collective arses and get 'em fired up. And we did walk away with a point, when we possibly didn't deserve it. You can never underestimate the value of those single points come season's end.

Berbagoal!

For me, Berbatov could be the best player of this match. He leaded attacking. Btw, many players, like Rooney (Although Gordon made a good save) and Foster plus entire midfield (Couldn't made a support) were bad.

1- our main midfields are Anderson, Fletcher and Carrieck now, Scholes can be useful as a sub or in low profile matches and not in a physical match like Sunderland.

2- Please no Foster anymore.

3- welback can be useful as a striker and he sucks as a winger.

4- Rooney needs to improve his dribling and he should put himself in more goal oppurtunities as well.

If we had a correct selection, we could win the match with ease and that waste makes me really angry.

If City, Liverpool and Arsenal win this week, the title race will be so fuc-king close.

United 19
Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, City 18

Arsenal will be 15 if they wins. Oh, if Chelsea wins, they will be 1st again.

:icon_spin: As nady pointed out it was just humour, quoted from a thread on another forum we were were all talking about and how it had me laughing. You should take a look at this thread at how pro ronaldo I am. anyway....

If that's the case then.. my bad. I thought you were one of those who bashes a player for the sole reason of leaving his beloved club. Not that there aren't guys still doing that in this thread.

Didn't see the match, was it a coincidence that you failed to win with Giggs missing and Scholes having a bad day?

I had no problem if Ronaldo wanted to go to Madrid and came straight out and said it - however it was the way he went about getting the move and his petulant behaviour that I have the problem with. But in any case - we move on.

That was a toothless, gutless display yesterday and I'm glad Rooney wasn't happy with some of his team-mates' displays. Ando did okay and Berba took his goal brilliantly but apart from that we looked slow off the mark and devoid of ideas against a very well organised and hardworking Sunderland side.

And don't even get me started about Ben Foster ..

The only positive from this match is this:

Stunning goal. He was one of the best players yesterday. You could see that he's trying harder and making more runs than usual. He gave Rooney a good chance to score as well, which the keeper saved I think. btw chelsea Vs Liverpool still 0-0. Hope it stays like that :D

Not really, it was more of a Foster's fault. He gave up a goal that VDS would have saved easily and that killed our momentum. Had we not conceeded, the winning goal was surely coming. Maybe chosing Foster over Kuzschack was a mistake.

Foster became master in killing United momentum lately.

when VDS will come back? It's time for Fergie to use Thomas.

I think Fergie is worried that Foster would breakdown and become even worse if he thought that Fergie doesn't trust him anymore. I think it's his confidence that's hurting him and until he had a good game that won't change.

Either that or the Polish guy is dreadful in training.

What I don't understand is how much patience do fans have for Foster. Is it because he's English?
If Kuszczak made mistakes as frequently as Foster, he would've left the club like Taibi did. But no, with Foster, we have to hear things like "be patient, he's learning, he has potential, blah blah blah".
I know that Kuszczak isn't as good as VDS but he certainly deserves his chance.

I'm surprised that Kuszczak is still wasting his time and talent at United. Someone with such an ambition should have left the club many months ago.
