But if you look at it, at least from my view, there was actually minimal contact and you can see by Drogba's face he was going to milk it. He knew he had no chance of getting the ball.

I can see why it might look like that, although it's debatable. I'm not arguing that Drogba overreacted, although if it did hurt him, it could just be him trying to shake off the pain, which a lot of people do. And afterwards he does seem to act a bit, but it doesn't matter. You can argue that Drogba's reaction created 'boy-cried-wolf' reaction, but you can't say that Evans didn't deserve at least a card there. That's an intentional, violent foul, and from my understanding, even if you don't hit someone, but tried to, it's a straight red. Evans should've been sent off.

I personally like Evans until this match, but there is simply no need for that sort of thing on the field. Drogba got sent off for less in the CL final, and people moaned about that for weeks. He served a 3 match suspension for saying '******* disgrace' to the cameras, and he was criticsed a lot for it. Evans should get a post-match ban, it's just as bad as Adebayor kickng van Persie, and they studied that case.

Evans was jumping for a ball, his foot collided with Drogba's chest, I'm sure it hurt but the way he sold it was ridiculous. It certainly didn't warrant a red card. That was the only thing the referee got right.

Sorry you cant condone what Drogba does week in week out to a one off evans did. He shouldn't of done it and he wont do it again. Drogba on the other hand and others like him should be punished with a yellow card every time.
And you cant say its an over reaction, drogba does it that often, commentators and players were laughing at him. His own teams mate initially walked off before they realised he was actually "down". Made himself a victim of his own stupidity. The sad thing is... unlike others will he learn his lesson, I think not.
Don't be so mellow dramatic... your 'pulling a drogba'. The worst a kick to the solar plex would do is wind him. That poxy back flick would have done little more then scratch or bruise him. Hit him right on the pectoralis major too, That huge muscle in your pec. Very hard to cause damage there.

In which post did I say I condone what Drogba does week in week out with his theatrics? That is something already well covered by most of the population on this planet that loves football. We all know how much "adulation" he's received for that. Nevertheless, he's still our player.

Its one thing constantly embarrassing yourself rolling on the floor but violent conduct is another. I remember how you lot reacted when Possebon got tackled hard by Pogatetz, and were outraged by it.

This is a similar situation if not even worse due to the way it was handled by the referee, add insult to injury Drogba was wrongfully booked, because I've seen countless of people aggravate the reaction to their injury with theatrics but if they deserve a yellow for the way they react to tackles made on them, then the person who commits the tackle must receive a punishment even worse.

As for Evans not intentionally leading with his foot, thats just rubbish, if he lead with his elbow thats another thing.
But jumping on the air to head the ball there's just no way you'd get up your foot as high as Evans did without making hard contact with the opposing player.
We see goalkeepers do it at times but even they don't get their boots to the level of the chest.

Wow, you Man Utd fans defending Evans are very dumb. That was a clear red card foul, why did Evans donkey kick him with his cleats to the poor guys chest while the ball was no where around Drogba's mid body? I'd imagine that would hurt quite a bit. Even if Drogba didn't "try" to sell it and continued right after it still deserves a red.

Should have been a red card for Evans, not only was this a brutal foul (a player in 2nd Bundesliga tore his lung after a similar foul), he also was the last man.

Sorry I miss read you, I thought you didn't agree with drogba's yellow. Players like him deserve yellow cards when ever the play acting starts. We have them too, Nani being the worst offender.

As for Evans yes it was clearly intentional, not that I believe it caused much damage. The whole thing screamed theatrics. Just pause that video at 19 seconds too see what I mean.

But anyway that's irrelevant there was intention. Will Evans learn his lesson, Yes. Will he do it again, no. Will Drogba's stop his theatrics vs Wolves after getting a yellow card for doing just that...

ill say this about the evans vs drogba incedent.

1, it wasnt a 50/50 challenge. evens was way up in the air clearing the ball with a header and big ass drgba is charging him down at full pace with no chance of getting the ball.

2. anyone in the same situation would protect themselves.

3. i wouldve kneed him in the face, but thats me.

4. and king cantona did the right thing as well.

as for the valencia penalty, you dont see the angle in the highlighs but terry sent down and had a hand full of the front of valencias shirt dragging him down too. you will see valencia start to go down but regain his footing and rise a little. then hit is pulled down. it was a penalty, but not clear for the ref to see so i can see how he made the mistake.

im not too worried, we have a pretty good run of games over the christmas period, most of the teams we will be playing will be midtable, so that should work in our favor.

No matter how I look at it, Evans should have gotten booked for that. He very obviously kicked Drogba in the chest. Yes, Drogba's seizure like theatrics were absolutely ******* stupid but Evans did kick him.

As far as the actual team play, I thought we played very well BUT we didn't create any proper chances. I only remember the one shot from Rooney from outside the box that made Cech work and I think Valencia had an effort too. If you don't score you can't expect to win.

Either way, 5 points is not a lot at this point of the season and there's plenty of time to catch up.

It doesn't bother me about the "Glory hunters" not posting here anymore, I'd rather converse with real United fans. So we're not top of the table at the moment, but I have faith in the boys, and also that Sir Alex will make the right moves in January. I really hope we go for Krasic and Akinfeev.

I doubt it tho that SAF will go in for either of them. With Obertan showing the right signs, Ljajic coming in two months and Tosic waiting for his chance we are well covered on the wings. Not to mention the other numerous wingers we have. Next month we will hear whether Edwin will add another season to his tally or will Foster take over the scepter. I am sure that SAF is also thinking about the English quota in his starting eleven. He doesn't want to end up like Arsenal whom just have 2 English players and they aren't even starters. As for the season so far we are doing well IMO. When Ronaldo (and Tevez) left we were written off, but I am quite sure that we can only get better and better as the season progresses. Chelsea were lucky to get a goal in a game which I felt we were slightly better and as for Liverpool we know that they like to raise their game once playing against us. My only worries are Arsenal and the injury of Rio.

As for the glory hunters....I don't care about them....

I've seen signs that City aren't quite happy with Tevez. I guess they found out that he isn't as prolific as his pricetag suggests. They feel that they have been ripped off, If I am correct they paid 43 mln pounds for him....talking about a waste of money.

Nani said that "for now I am not considering" leaving Old Trafford. He also spoke about Ferguson's relationship with the players and displays of anger. He said he had been on the receiving end of the manager's rage.

Assuming its true, not smart of him to say that. Look at what happened to Jaap Stam. I can see the same thing happening with Nani this time, especially considering that Fergie doesn't seem happy with his performance. I don't think he improved since coming. Sad for a player who showed so much potential.

For coincidence, Italian medias say that clubs like Juve, Milan, Fiorentina are interested in Nani. For me, Nani is a player who has potential but til now, couldn't fully achieved it because of having many ups and downs.
