However, this defeat means fergie wont be retiring anytime soon im sure of it.

Modern day tactics are far more advanced than what we had in 70's 80s or even 90s and Barcelona makes a mockery of it all. They dominate every single team they encounter. No arguments who deserved to win.
I'm happy that the players fought hard and you could see that they were trying. But sadly I have to agree with Carlos Wilshere, we needed to get into Barcelona's face and we just didn't do that. It is one of Ferguson's problems that when he sees a really good team, he gives them too much respect. He tries to come up with an amazing tactic to counter it, but he is just not that good of a tactician. This frustrated the hell of a lot from me when United would keep losing to AC Milan year after year, just because Ferguson would try to out-master them, rather than simply use the team's superior physical abilities.
I'm afraid tactically Fergie got it wrong again and historically its not at all a surprise that he did.
On the plus side, did any notice how pissed off and anxious Ferguson was? No way he is leaving in the near future. Barcelona again exposed our ****ty midfield and I really really hope that this is the moment Ferguson decides to buy a real central midfielder. He is a very stubborn man and needs to make the same mistake twice or three times to learn, so let's hope that this is that last time.

Help?;3043105 said:You sure man, I understood that you were telling me that Fergie will probably use 4-5-1 as it was in your opinion more effective having Fletcher over Hernandez against Barca, no?
ShiftyPowers;3043148 said:Nah, I thought Chicharito should have played and Rooney stick to Busquets like glue, which was the plan. If anything I would have thought about Fletcher over Giggs, but if he's not fully fit, what are you gonna do.
As for Barcelona... clearly age is going to catch up to them at some point, and Cesc isn't the same player as Xavi, but I think it pretty much comes down to Messi; everyone else is replaceable to some extent. Iniesta has missed LARGE chunks of time over the past 3 years and Barca have been just as good. And hell, if we're to believe reports, La Masia is supposedly just overflowing with talent right now. It will be interesting as Messi gets to 27/28 what he's going to do. Does he want to stay in Barcelona his entire career? He's well paid, but clearly Barca don't pay him his market value; likewise if he wants more fame and recognition he has to move to Madrid or United because that's just how the media works.
