What happened with Tosic? I see he moved to CSKA Moscow, but he barely played for us. Fergie must know what he's doing, but what a waste of money. Hopefully for his sake Moscow is a happier place for him.

A new deal for Vidic is good news, doesn't mean he'll stay necessarily but if he does leave then whoever (probably Real) will have to stump up more cash for him. Hernandez looked quite good at the WC, but I'm still hoping we bring in another forward.

Just paid 20 bucks to go see United play, and I was disappointed in the display today.

Gibson couldn't get anything right, Berbatov gave up after not getting the passes, Nani didn't look very intersted in the game. Also the back four, besides Evans are sloppy, the left back was completely worthless, left Giggs hanging to dry quite a bit.

I know it was a friendly but some these guys need to impress. Maybe it was motivation, but I was certainly hoping to see United do better against 10 men Wizards, maybe I'm being too harsh on a friendly but the wizards are not a very good team to lose to at all.

I know it's just a preseason friendly but that was really embarrassing. I feel bad for the fans who can never see United live until they tour in the summer only to witness a bunch of disinterested players with below average performances..

Its all an experience and part of the learning process for the youngsters. Nothing to be embarrassed about really. SAF will get them motivated for the next game.

Wooo oh boy, what an insightful post from the 'post patrol'

That was so funny, lets rep him for being a stand up comedian.

Back on topic,

I thought Wellbeck was a lot more lively, as did Obertan he really likes to have ago at defenders and did very well sometimes. On a positive note as well, looks like Giggs and Scholes haven't lost the touch on some of their passing. They put 40 yard passes almost effortlestly, that was impressive.

That was far from our starting lineup. No Rooney, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra etc. Players like Welbeck, Macheda, Cleverley, De Laet etc were playing. It was more like a semi-reserve team. Disappointing game, but nothing to be embarassed at all imo.

Yes, that is exactly what I meant, obviously.

That wasn't an attempt at humor, it was sincere.

And you haven't repped me, dude. You suck.

Hernandez just scored his first goal. Great timed run and a cool finish by lifting the ball over the goalie. Cleverley's goal was beautiful aswell. Good game overall. The MLS Allstar team put in a decent effort

Help?

Its like we have totally found the '97 version of Michael Owen. Saw his post game interview and he sounds like a humble hard-working guy as well. I have a feeling Chicarito will have a great season for United.

Superb start for Chicarito, it'll be fantastic having him working with Owen to develop. He's so similar to how Owen was it's unbelievable, hopefully he can learn alot from him - on and off the field.

Cleverley has been superb too, his goal showed so much confidence. One season on loan playing regularly in the Prem and he'll be ready for the first team, i hope.

Great to see Macheda, Nani and O'Shea back too.

Great performance by the kids. Yeah, Macheda was gifted his first goal but he still had to finish it off and he did as cool as can be. Great header on the second goal. Gibson's free kick was superb. Cleverley's goal was truly world class, and Chicharito's goal was a nice cool finish as well.

Seeing all of these young players, it got me thinking about the new Premiership rules. We are allowed only 25 players, and according to wiki we have like 42 on our roster right now. But isn't there some rule where players under a certain age don't count against the 25? It would be a shame if we had to leave one of the bright young talents off the team...

The rules say that every club has to name a first-team squad of no more than 25, of which a maximum of 17 may not be home-grown players. However each club can use as many U21 (born on or after January 1st 1989) players as they wish to. So therefore all of your youngsters can play for the team next season.

Much more encouraging from the youngsters. Cleverley's goal was like Gazza's in Euro 96 - brilliantly taken, I hope to see him play CM rather than off the wing though.

Macheda was razor sharp, well taken goals and a constant threat.

Chicharito took his goal well, and I can see why he was the fastest player in the World Cup, the kid's lightning fast, and certainly knows where the goal is, I can see the comparisons with Michael Owen circa 1998.

And as I give the kid stick, it's only right I say kudos to Darron Gibson for a world class freekick - if he can sort his decision making during games, he could be a class player.

Amazing how one game can change your perspective, but the boys looked like the business last night.

am i the only one who noticed gibson's holiday weight? His freakin tummy was bulging out. Good free kick but have to shed off that bloody weight.

That's pretty much how I feel at the moment. Granted, we weren't facing the best competition- an MLS All-Star team would probably compare to a mid-table Premiership team at best- but it definitely IS very encouraging to see that we can put mostly reserve players out there and still be dominant.

I really hope Chicharito and Macheda both get regular playing time this year. Honestly I'd put both of them ahead of Berbatov and Owen.
