It's amazing how Blackburn could become such an exciting team all of sudden, by catching us out of place on quick counter attacks and deploying the vast space in our back. Simply because we were pushing up so much eager to score and underestimating them.

No wonder everybody is beginning to play a conservative 4-5-1 this season. :nape:

Man U's problem is scoring, if they can get that back on track then there will be no problem, they tried to play some sort of gung-ho today, atleast they attacked alot instead of being 'patient' . Leaving Rooney out wasn't a smart move, he should've known that we need the best team out to get the full points. Today Man U created a lot of chances especially in the first half, that shows that this team is able to create some chances if you compare it with last year. I guess this season's champ is already decided. SAF should have a good look at Gamst Pedersen, his set-pieces alone can help Man U

I don't agree that the formation was to blame. Going to 4-4-2 wouldn't have made any difference, we made a shedload of chances but just couldn't put them away. Van der Sar was superb, but the defence looked shaky.

Help?

90% of our moments can barely be called goal scoring chances, most of them were just somewhat attempts at goal. There were really 2 chances that could have troubled Brad Friedel and 2 more chances that Ruud should have put away at least 1 one of them, from both times, when Ronaldo hit a hard shot at the far post. The first time Ruud missed was excusable, but that second time in second half from Ronaldo's freekick, the ball should have been in the back of the net.

Also gotta love how in the first half, Ronaldo hit Dickov's hand i believe in the box and the ref standing right near him, didn't call it. Dickov's arms were outstretched like he was a keeper. Very bad refering.

we are awful, its back to mid table mediocrity for us, fergie hasnt got a clue anymore, and has possibly got the dementure early, we arn't turning any corners or making any sort of progress.

we are playing a system which our players arent comftable in , with a lone striker up front surrounded by defenders, with a forward playing as a winger, another forward playing as a defensive midfielder and a winger playing as a full back. No wonder why we seem so weak and dis-jointed.

i think what we are saying is pretty pointless, fergie and queroz don't learn, we expect to see the same thing week in and week off :|

Well,as u proberly know,i have been screaming "buy Gamst Pedersen" before Blackburn even knew he was for sale!
United had scouted him long before blackburn, but decided they was not interested (we could have got him almost for free, comparing to other transfer's)
we see the outcome of this failure know,we dont have anyone who is good at set-pieces + who do we have on the left mid, giggs great but old and SAF dont seme to be interested to play him.and we got Park who run and run and run and that seme to be all he do!
i guess Pedersen could have been the "man" for us if we just could open our eyes when quality players are avalible!

Fergie is now an old-fashioned manager... not dare to change and doesnt admit his own fault.

Why didnt he start Rooney? Our poor performance is not only Fergie's fault. Our players have lost the desire. The desire to score and the desire to win.

The biggest problem is that we only have Ruud who is the main source for goals atm. If there were more sources then we could've had more goals. If Ruud isn't playing well or is marked tight, there is no other player who can score the goals the team needs. IMO Smith in the DM position is pointless, Jones or Miller can fill in that position better than him, if Phil was still around then we didn't have a problem, is it hard to find a decent DM or someone with good set-pieces? I don't think the formation is the problem, we still created a lot of chances. When Heinze got injured I knew that this will be another dissapointing season, we need Neville and Heinze back as soon as possible to atleast start from somewhere to get this team back in form.

i think saha might be the answer!!

i hope!

smith shud be playing the role rooney is playing and not DM!

in saying this fergie won't change anything 1 bit! we just have to survive another season of pain and the next season when the glazers chuck his ass out and we get a modernised manager i will be happy!

can any1 rank the signings we've made plz?

the fact is smith is not a DM! i remembered fergie promised that he will not use smith as midfielder when we sign him and he even told the press that we will use him as striker. how about now, smith end up as the "replacement" for keane? smith is not the only player that suffered from fergie's stubbornness. o'shea, richardson, miller, scholes even rooney now.

take a look at o'shea, he looked like a promising left back for us in his debut season but screwed up by fergie because he keep playing him out of his position. center back, midfielder, defensive midfielder, right back. richardson on loan season at west brom as a left midfielder proved that he can be a regular or decent backup for giggs but now he end up at another left back replacement. miller is the poorest guy, he don't even have a chance to prove himself in his favorite role. if i'm not mistake, his debut was playing as a right midfielder. now scholes have a terrible form because he don't even know his role in the tactics. he is a playermaker or forward that played behind striker but now he is like a holding defensive midfielder than a playmaker. the latest victim is rooney. he is talented young player but it doesn't mean he can suit in every position. he is not a winger for god saked. stop playing him as a left or right winger.

if we're once the richest club in the world. can't we just get a proper player that fit in these roles? why the fvck we have to play the players out of their position?

How? He would be a back-up for Ruud.

ngyc, your right! The Moronic Duo is holding the players back, not giving them enough freedom, not leting them attack. Smith, Rooney, Giggs are all playing out of position. With the 451 we are playing now, we need 3 quality CM-s and 2 quality wingers on the pitch at the same time, do we?

With our current squad, this is the team that i would like to see play. I think Smithy can cut it as a midfielder, but not really as a DM - he played alot as a CM/AM for Leeds and did very well there. I think that Fletcher could be a decent DM for us.

I think that if Solskjaer was to get fit soon then he could give the team the huge boost we need.

C'MON OLE WE NEED YOU!

From my humble opinion, Queiroz is f*cking all up, trying to be too innovative... A striker as DM? C´mon, this is like his brilliant idea of using Raul Bravo as CB in Madrid :(

BTW Park should be a starter, as he is the more creative player in united midfield, and Scholes natural substitute.

Djemba in the DM/CM roll is more usefull then Smith, the formation itself is good, but the players filling the positions isn't IMO.
