Man I was nervous, but I actually had no reason to, Liverfool couldn't create a decent chance in most of the game. Torres was no where and we defended at ease. Ronaldo had a very difficult game, he was almost constantly man marked by 3 men. The difference for us today were Rio, Vidic, Hargreaves and Anderson, they controlled Gerrard and Torres

Very happy with the win and now I hope Chelsea and Arsenal draw their game

Superb team effort especially from the backline and Hargreaves + Anderson is looking like Sir Alex's favourite paring in the middle of the park.Nothing sweeter than beating our bitter rivals at their holy Anfield.Too bad the Chavs couldnt do us a favour at the emirates.

Well we beat the dippers anyway. Anderson OWNED "Stevie G - God of Liverpool"

Anderson is fast becoming my favourite player (apart from Ronny)

anderson was pretty impressive, rooney had stages where he didnt do much, but then turned it up. i liked tevez again, another poacher goal like in the CL the other day, i thought hargreaves was absoloute **** but then i was very drunk watching, and the commentator said he was playing good so maybe it was off the ball marking.

very good game

Well he's not South American is he? As for the BS that he isn't a principle player for Portugal - rubbish, Ronaldo is THE principle player for Portugal.

The Messi fanboys will love this :-puke:

yeah Ronaldo should have gotten the second spot for last season, and not the first only for that semi final, really..

on another note, we all know Ronaldo can do better than he's been doing lately, particularly for the NT..

I think Ronaldo was better than Messi last season, too. Messi might be better this season, and he might have more potential, but that shouldn't matter, it should be about how you're playing.

Though, I think it doesn't matter who's second and who's third. It's all about winning it, so I don't really care.

I agree that Cristiano Ronaldo had a great SEASON last season.

But the award is for the World Player of the YEAR.

In the year of 2007, Messi also had some brilliant performances with the Argentinean NT, especially during the Copa.

So you also have to take that into consideration. That said, I agree with Jaboldinho...

2 and 3rd don't mean anything.

You have a point, but considering the fact that Messi was injured quite a lot in the beginning of last season makes him being second after Kaka a bit nonsense. And considering the fact that Ronaldo won almost every individual award in Engeland, getting to the semis in the CL, getting to the final in the FA Cup and winning the league, Ronaldo should have been second best, cause it is quite obvious that he had done a lot more then Messi in that period. Messi didn't win any club honours, he didn't have a great CL etc....

I agree, Ronaldo had a fantastic year, and so did Leo, despite his injuries.

I find on these awards that they give extra weight to international performances (eg. Fabio Cannavaro last year)

Anyway, 2nd or 3rd, they are both phenomenal young players, and it's nice to see guys that young making it in...

Help?

Jealousy is a bitch, but don't worry next year Ronaldo is gonna be in with even bigger shout.

what's all this last season talk, he ain't exactly having a bad season now. His goal record speaks for itself, joint top goal scorer in the premier league & champions league and plenty more where that came from.
