Scholes is 33, so yeah, he is not gonna be able to handle 38 epl games a season in 1-2 years. Add to that all the minor injuries that he might get. The most United can get out of him is 4 years, my guess is 2-3. When was the last time that you saw a 37-38 year old playing as central midfielder at such a level like United's? You are right, Scholes doesn't need a replacement for a couple of years, but when he will need one and it will be soon, we will already have a perfectly ready and superb Anderson waiting to come in.
Better off at Chelsea? I think you forget that they have untochable Lampard, who is 29 and has like 7-8 years in him if lucky. Better off at Arsenal? They have the beloved Fabregas who is only 20 and who is like god to Arsenal fans, unless you want to stick Anderson in a more defensive central role there and do all the dirty work for Cesc. So, i'm sorry buddy, but Ferguson is the best coach to bring up young players and with Scholes retiring way faster than Lampard or Fabregas, i think you really gotta rethink your thinking.
