If we get Villa then we would have 3 world class strikers, none of them would want to be on the bench. How will that work? We couldnt keep 2 world class LB, one of them left Heinze. I think we should get a striker who is not world class but good enough someone like Louis Saha, Defoe etc.

the way Ribery, Sneijder and Villa are performing a the Euro, you would need to sell the Old Trafford or something in order to afford all three...

There's that Manucho guy to think about too. Him and berb will be nice.

Don't think there will be a issue with having another world class player, they will just get rotated. Like SAF's being doing the midfield, works well and I think its the deciding factor they let us do well in the euro's as our players weren't all injured.

I would see them getting plenty of game time.

Fixtures came out. Big away games to Emirates, Anfield and Stamford Bridge to be concluded before Christmas which would be a bonus so there would be no fixture congestion and such.

We got Arsenal in the run in and we finish away again. Why can't we finish at home for once? It's nice to round off the season at home - especially if there's a trophy lift to relish.

Ole takes another stride to total Man Utd legend ... (He's there already IMO)

I really don't want Ronaldo to go, but if we are selling him for that amount, we might as well sell the entire team for 1M. He's worth twice than that amount.

Nor do I, but I think it will happen - allegedly he's told close friends he's quitting after EURO 2008.

I think all United fans will be hoping for a German win on Thursday - this Ronaldo thing must be resolved while we still have time to get replacements/reinforcements. If Ronaldo leaves, our transfer strategy dramatically changes (which is why I'm hoping for a player exchange with Real)

Robinho would be an adequate replacement, and we could advance Anderson - like he played for (Porto and Gremio). Manucho will come in to replace sicknote Saha.

One little thing, I don't know why people ring MUTV and say we need a right back. Wes Brown was a revelation this season, and Gary Neville is almost fit again + we have young Danny Simpson (and also the Brazil twins) Why would we need Micah Richards (and Sparky won't sell anyway)

Realistically I would say our strategy would be (depending on the Ronaldo outcome)

Scenario One - Ronaldo is sold (straight cash)

Priority one is to replace the deficit to the squad of losing a winger. Nani would be my pick for left wing (bring Giggs on sparingly) We could go for a "direct" replacement like Quaresema or Joaqin etc. Or I think David Bentley would be a good addition because he would supply ammunition to Carlos and Wazza - like Beckham did. Also, like Becks - Bentley is a danger from freekicks (although Owen Hargreaves is my set play man) In addition we must get at least one more front man. I like Berbatov, but I question his temperament and attitude although his skill is Cantona esque at times - he glides over the field.

Klaus Jan Huntelaar would be a good buy, his prolific record speaks for itself and Dutch players tend to adapt well to the English game. I also like Podolski, and indications are Bayern may sell for the right price.

Closer to home, I have a lot of respect for Aston Villa's Gabby Agbonlahor, he's young knows the league and is English - I suspect having almost certainly lost Barry, that Villa would not entertain the idea.

Scenario Two - Ronaldo goes in swap deal

If we could get Sergio Ramos (class player, sorry Wes) and Robinho then I think we'd only really need another striker. Ideally though I'd love to see United play hardball and get Wesley Sneijder in any deal.

Scenario Three - Ronaldo stays

Two strikers and possibly another young winger (for Ronaldo will definitely have gone in two/three seasons)

God, I really hope we don't get Ronaldo. IMO, I think it's more valuable to have Sergio Ramos, Robinho on our squad. Ramos would be irreplaceable and Robinho is nowhere near his full potential and I believe he'll be World player of the year soon. Plus, they're both really young. Calderon needs to get off this Ronaldo infatuation especially when we don't need him. All we need is a Villa or Huntelaar and that's it.

Ronaldo is the most popular player in the world among kids right now, can you him? Its not like Calderon bought Beckham purely for his footballing skills you know.

Calderon didn't buy Beckham. Florentino Perez bought him. Difference is Ronaldo is the most popular but also the best player now! Im not anti Ronaldo. He brings alot to the table and is ajoy to watch. But I don't think giving away Robinho and Ramos is worth it. Nowhere near. Let alone 50 big ones

Probably not. But really, i think the talk of Ramos and Robinho plus cash being changed for Ronaldo is just media talk. I don't think Calderon would actually seriously consider it. You follow Real more, so you would know better than I do.

I think Robihno is a realistic posibility, there has been a general sense that he has never peaked and well here in Madrid people like to see results quick...Last season was his best with us and baring the fact he got injured He probably would have finished wth even better numbers...things about Robihno that have been brough up is his work ethic at times is poor Reminescent of Big Ronaldo, also that he sometimes seems to forego his defensive responsabilities however tiny they might be, and finally that he would not pass the ball to save his life choosing instead to dribble all day long, but that has been corrected a lot under Schuster this year...so but the Ramos thing not gonna happen, we really dont have a replacement nor can we buy one as the RB market is extremely thin right now...so that Ramos part was purely media talk, I would be Stunned if he went anywhere, they were talking about giving him a life contract like Casillas, Raul and Guti have with us...anyway, Robihno, could happen

I dont think any replacement for Ronaldo can be English sorry to say. Bentley is overrated and I dont think hes that good. You need a talent that can do the business week in week out. Robinho is the man to do that.
