The reason Real Madrid have won so much is because they were the favorite soccer club of none other than Francisco Franco, Dictator/Regent(stand-in king) of Spain from 1936 to 1975. i would defy anyone to be competitive in that kind of climate.

15 out of their 31 domestic titles were won while he ruled and 6 of their 9 champs trophies.

now, once you subtract all the titles won under Franco, Madrid's title count starts to resemble much more closely those of all the other Byg clubs in Europe.

Must be nice being the only state funded Club in the league.

To be fair to Madrid, you did just shed almost half a century of their history and they are still up there in line if not above the rest. Either way man, just don't worry what other fans think about their team. If they want to believe that Real Madrid is the biggest club in the world then let them be. History is something nobody can control or really argue about (unless its known from secondary sources only) and something that frankly should only be used as a learning tool for the future. The point is, we are the best right now, not Madrid, not Chelsea, not Inter or Barcelona, Manchester United is, so let's enjoy our time bro ;).

I naturally totally agree with you Help?

I would rather say we went for Messi giving Barca the players that Real give and 10 million subtracted from the amount they give.....I doubt how many clubs can cope up with the troubles that we went through our history.....old trafford getting destroyed in the world war(s), munich air disaster etc... as just some of the examples.......

New Away kit released....I don't like it....The texture seems very very cheap.....I don't think that blue goes well with the white...

Well, the only reason it is blue is because of the 40th anniversary of us winning our first European Cup. The away kit can be used with white or blue shorts and this is probably the same for the new third blue kit.

According to Reports in Russia, He has signed a deal with English Premier League Champions Manchester United.

LOL. (H) Maybe Mr Gill, Mr Ferguson or Mr Queiroz is holidaying in Moscow?

All that aside, he is having a great tournament for Russia when he played left back. He bombs forward like Evra and he'd be ideal on the left. However, it'd very difficult to judge players on summer tournaments because then we would be saying that Benzema has been sh*t for France and we shouldn't go for him.

On a sidenote though, I have been thinking about the pros and cons of Ronaldo leaving but it's not nice since he is contracted to the club as yet.

Ronaldinho under Sir Alex could be reinvigorated, plus I'm sure Nike would help since they sponsor United and Ronny (in regards to the appearance demands)

I could truly see this happening, we know Sir Alex has looked at Ronaldinho in the past. I'd be happy to see it to be honest. He's obviously happy to come to Manchester - so why wouldn't he jump at joining the best club in the city (and Europe - we are Champions) Plus we offer regular Champions League football - something that City are a couple of years from at least (and Milan are out this year too)

The only negative is whether United could accommodate his wage demands without wrecking the pay structure.

In other news, the media is claiming Carlos Tevez is unhappy that United have not made his transfer permanent and are claiming he may leave this year if this isn't sorted  - he does want to stay though (Y)

And in more positive news;

Lukas Podolski would be allowed to leave Bayern - and he'd be open to offers.

Speeking of russian players:
Andrei Arshavin is the one who has impressed me the most!
Guess he will be a "hot" target in the summer!

F*ck that Brazilian has been. He could have chosen United over Barcelona a few years ago and I'm not exactly open to the idea of him poisoning Anderson with his late night antics. Anderson is the future, not Ronaldinho.

Anderson strikes me as being a level headed lad and his own man. The trouble is, Anderson is adapting to more of a box 2 box type player rather than the mini Ronaldinho he was at Gremio and Porto. We could let him go out wide to fill the wing position - but I feel he's better in the centre.

While we're talking about Ando - why not give Wazza the #7 and switch Ando to #10?

yeah and how about give van der sar 9 since it's his fave number, ooh and o'shea should like get number 1 cos he's just like totally the best player evar...
why the **** would they start swapping numbers around like that? rooney already swapped 8 for 10 last summer, and you've got to remember we're not talking about 11 year old kids with obsessions with different numbers.

Regarding numbers there are only one that has sentimental value and that is the number 7 (and nr 20 if it was up to me to decide)
u can always claim that it's 11 year old kid's obsession with number's but i still think the player's have there special numbers they would like to have on there shirt!

Because the number 7 at Manchester United is a special honour, Best, Robson. Cantona and Beckham have worn it with distinction. Therefore Wayne Rooney should have the number because he is our driving force and could be a United legend.

I don't advocate swapping numbers for the hell of it, but the idea of the number 7 being unfilled is not traditional. Even if R**aldo stays - he should be stripped of the number and someone more deserving should have it.

I like the traditions of the club to be maintained.

lol i'm obviously aware of the tradition of the number 7, it's just it seems like everyone makes too big a deal about technically trivial (although not emotionally trivial) things like this.
