I can't see Ole recovering from this injury and return to being the player he once was. He is getting on age wise, quite a pity we have lost another great player to injury.

Perhaps time to make some last minute purchases.

We never had so many injuries before a season starts..
And now Ole joins the list :( :( :(

I think this is too much of a trend to be a coincidense, maybe...the physio staff?

physio can do nothing for a cartilage problem. it only helps with muscles and ligaments. cartilage can be operated on, but wether that fixes it or not is an other matter all together.

I mean the physio staff may not be as capable as other teams, Ferguson already blamed himself for Ruud's injury, maybe its the physios...just a thought. And its not like other teams didn't play pre season friendlies with players who took part in the Euro.

i dont think we'll buy anyone to replace Solskjaer, Bellion plays the same positions as him and has a lot of potential, Eagles can play right wing and also has a lot of potential. And there are also alot of other youngsters that deserve a chance

From the many performances Bellion has given so far,I Frankly feel he is not that great potential.Richardson and Eagles seem better.
Bellion has had quite some games for United last season. He is yet to give a good performance.
I reckon Danny Webber-our Watford loaned out star is better by a mile

Bellion, with that pace, is always a threat. Richardson is a massive talent and is set to take Giggs' place on the left wing eventually. Eagles also has the potential to do extremely well.

Where have you been? Danny Webber have left United long ago...

Imo, you guys depend heavily on the youngsters. In truth, I think you guys overrate them...

Sir Alex Ferguson has backed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to overcome his latest injury set-back and return for United.

The Norwegian forward has been ruled out for the rest of the season after exploratory knee surgery, known as an arthroscopy, revealed "persistent damage to the articular cartilage of his right knee".

Tuesday's English press carry quotes from Solskjaer, saying: "I am aware I might never play again."

But Sir Alex is resolute. He said: "Ole's only 31 and has a determination that will hopefully help him but it is not easy for the lad.

"He had to go and see a specialist and he had to have surgery but hopefully now he'll have a good rehabilitation."

"He has had one or two injuries in the past but he overcame those. I'm sure he will do so again. He is mentally strong, that's a great advantage."

Report by Ben Hibbs.

Well if SAF belive he will come back,i suppose i will belive it too!

oops!my bad.forgot.

it isn't a question to overrate.
he is not as young as kieran or eagles.

No doubt Bellion can perform, but he lacks that cutting edge.
having pace doesn't only matter.he needs to have a good ball control.

mainly i think he should be played as a CF.
