to be honest, i wouldnt think the world would be any worse.
what bush accomplished so far cannot be underestimated. his personal ego has caused so much pain and suffering.
He brought civil war to Iraq, i dont see any difference between now and then. He is a farmer from texas, with a 'southern' mentality about world affairs.

Hmmm yes I heard the repot about the Al Quida vid on the news last night... being ever the opportunists they are I suspect they wouldn't have bothered releasing anything if the Israeli army had been quick and efficient in taking care of Hezbollah... I just wonder what effect this unifying of Shia and Sunni that appears to be going on will have in Iraq.

It does make Al Queda look pretty sad though, a bit like 'don't forget about us!' when on an everyday level they wil never have the respect of a Hamas or a Hezbollah... BIG concern is what happens in the following days if Israel don't make headway against Hexbollah... if they open the scope of their bombing further then the civilian count goes up, if they don't and actually end up suffering something of a moral defeat (i.e. Hezbollah remain intact) then the aura of the Israeli arm is lost and its neighbours will start thinking differently...

If Bush really is "puppet for the public", then why is his public approval rating so low? I also don't remember him consulting the public when he recently vetoed stem-cell research, it's pretty obvious that decision was part of his personal religious agenda (and ofcourse to appease the bible thumping demographic). It was a move that even several other republicans disagreed with..

Actually you're right.....he is making the decisions that the aristocracy of the US that supports him forces him to make.....but he does have the final say. So in a sense he could tell them to f*ck off, being he can't run for re-election, but then he would look even dumber at this point for changing his stance, or worse they could pull a JFK on him if he doesn't go along.

Regardless the guy is not the ideal leader of a nation for one simple reason, he is a horrible public speaker. In other words he can't fullfill 1/3 of his responsibility, i.e to properly convey ideas to a nation.

Finally, he seems to me to be enjoying this and sees it as necessary (Iraq's occupation/civil war), so I don't think he's hard to convince on 99% of the decisions he made, a majority of them have been for his own and his family's personal benefit.

The question now is how do we fix this mess?

The answer is

1)dissolve Iraq into 3/4 nations based on religious/ethnic backrounds and withdraw entirely allowing each nation the rights of soverenty .

2)rearrange the map of Palestine giving the majority of it back to the Palestinians

3)Get rid of the oil based economic system and replace it with "green"

The repercussion of these will be

1)Sunni/ Shiite/ Kurd states separate and segragated
-no more massacres, no more death no future wars

2)Palestinians happy and stop whinning
-Israelis displeased-> well give them a small portion of the land and some of Jerusalem and that's it! Not control of the whole land, the Western powers were really stupid to do this after WWII

3)US stops getting involved everywere in the world in search of oil and ends up in war.

But that would be the perfect world......instead let's go to Walgreens they have a sale on iced tea.

...and all I said about Turkey is that they were moving from Iran to Lebanon through Turkey, that's what "via" means.

BBC commentator earlier pointing out the fact that the Al Queda video had no reference to the Shia Hezbollah movement I guess because they are fomenting the flames of civil war in Iraq on the side of the Sunni...

Now imagine if the Shia and Sunni movements DID put things together...
