MLB 2008 Season

Spring Training is in full swing and it's looking like it should be a pretty exciting season. So the first question of the year.... anyone up for some fantasy baseball this year?

Make it three.

Anyways. I am exited to see the three kids pitch. Joba, Phil of the future and IPK hopefully will live to the hype.

I would gladly participate, but unfortunately I'm not near a computer often enough now that I live "underground".

I see somthing similar to this on Opening Day...

C Barret
1B Gonzalez
2B Iguchi
SS Green
3B Kouzmanoff
LF Hairston
CF Edmonds
RF Giles
P Peavy, Young, Maddux, Wolf, (5th Prior, Stauffer, Germano, Hensley???)

Keep an eye out for this years rookie of the year, because he'll probably get playing time at LF, 3B, and obviously pinch hitting, I'm talking about Chase Headley. He's a much touted prospect who's smashed at the minor league level and well he's supposed to be the shizznit. (H)

Mark "mada' fncken" Prior...if he could just stay healthy this season I'd say we have the best starting pitching in all of baseball.

Please, we all know that Clayton Kershaw is going to win the ROY. He'll make the rotation out of spring training and will dominate the NL this season. (H)

Everyone sign up. I'm going to PM everyone who's expressed interest in this thread, plus members who have played in the past, or who might care about baseball.

I want to draft before the main opening day, which is Monday the 31st, so I've set the draft time on Friday at 5:45 PM Eastern time. If that is no good for people, I'll try to change it, but the weekend times all look like 8 or 9 AM, which ain't happening.

I've lost so much interest in the Blue Jays, after Ricciardi's first season with us I thought we'd be contending for a playoff spot by now, but we've just hovered around .500 for like 3 years. gets kinda frustrating :(

PS: I joined the fantasy league. hopefully I don't implode like I have the past 2 seasons...

We hovered above 500 for almost 20 years but we are titless since 2000

I am in too: Brooklyn Dodgers

The Brewers should do well this year, they have a decent roster. then again, didn't they have a decent one last year? then crashed in the 2nd half of the season? or am I thinking of something else.

That draft time should be good for me, I get out from work at around 11 am so I shouldn't have a problem making it.

Alright we're up to 5! I don't know if Yoss and Hyun check in anymore, but I PMed them. I actually PMed pretty much anyone who's posted in the MLB thread in the last year.

Up to 6 now. Somehow Shifty convinced me to do it. I know nothing, this will be funny.

Prince actually isn't bad in the field. Braun's pretty poor, but we'll see how he handles Left Field this season.

Jacoby Ellsbury is an authentic Red man, eh? That's pretty neat. Used to be a time in the North American sports landscape where native athletes were quite common.
