One thing I've always wondered with FM, and I thought about it recently again because I'm doing a save with Rupel Boom (Lukaku's first team, in the Belgium 3rd division), is what happens if you just continuously fail to get any decent accomplishments, whilst not exactly getting sacked. For example, if you stay like 10 years with the same low-division, mid-table club, never going up or down, will the game "react" and become a bit easier for you? Or ultimately you can spend a 30 year career in the same club in a 4th division somewhere always finishing 9th without something or another happening that propels you to better results? I mean, at the end of the day FM is a game.

Interesting point. I assume if you meet their expectations you would keep the job and could technically do it for decades. However, it would be tough to always meet it, and not exceed it or hit it lower, and sometimes their expectations go up for the next year, so that is unpredictable. If the expectation is increased eventually you will have to win the league and move up, if not you may get sacked.

There may be a club with low rep, low attendance where you could just avoid relegation for a while and be fine.
