I'm looking for updated national rosters for Fifa 2002. I'd like to "play" some WC2006 qualifying matches...

Thanks for anything you can do to help!

I was working on an updated roster (& lucky for you it was mostly about the National Teams) but i stopped halfway coz i figured no 1 was interested. Guess i'll pick up the job once more. Btw i've put in an updated link of my current roster here . Check it out if you're interested & please post any feedback there :D

Which half of teams done?

You mentioned that you have 1/2 the teams done...who did you start with and who do you still have to do?

Umm....i might as well just mention what i've done. As far as national sides are concerned, i've updated the whole of AFC(added the names, revised the stats) & am currently working on CONMEBOL & CONCACAF. UEFA's gonna be a real pain so i'm leaving it for last, but i have updated several of the big teams (England, Germany etc.....) & updated most of the teams without player names. I've added Senegal & North Korea but you cant use them unless you install the kits 1st. I've also transfered Kazakhstan & American Samoa to UEFA & Other National Teams respectively. I used the FIFA rankings as the basis for the player stats so they might not be exactly accurate. However, that was the only way i could work with putting the teams in their rightful place. Please download it & post some feedback :)

How exactly did you use the Fifa Rankings as a basis for the player stats? I could possibly help out on some teams if you give me an idea of how you did this...

I've downloaded the file, but haven't linked it with the game yet...I'll let you know when I do.

Well.....i basically divided the countries into blocks & chose suitable average ratings for each block. The top 50 countries would have an average player rating of 60 & above. The next 50 would have ratings between 50 to 60. Countries from 100 to 150 would be rated from 40 to 50 & countries below that would have an average player rating of 40 & below.

Here's an example of the rankings & the average player stats :-
Rank Team Average
6. Netherlands 81
20. Iran 66.5
44. Ecuador 60.5
62. Guatemala 56.3
89. Syria 52.2
118. Singapore 45.4
143. Andorra 40.9
177. Pakistan 32
204. A. Samoa 26.1
Certain countries may have higher averages due to individual star players in the team, one example is Peru, though i dont think i updated it in the version that i put up for download. It isnt exactly foolproof but its the best that i've been able to come up with, especially for countries where information is not readily available.

What program to update rosters?

What program are you using?

I tried to open the rosters from you that I downloaded with FEd2002, but they won't open up...the program crashes when I click on the name of a player.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Im using FCDB XP.....yeah it aint compatible with FED :(. Once you load & save the database in FCDB u cant make it work with FED anymore. Its a whole lot easier to use bcoz of the built-in player search engine & other functions.
