More "boring boring PUMA" kits...

Bahrain

Egypt

Namibia

In addition I think Uruguay are no longer sponsored by Puma - after looking at the Puma Football website it appears they are no longer featured, then again Namibia are not listed in their list of national teams either but wear a Puma kit.

DO NOT LOOK FOR IT....I AM FROM URUGUAY AND THEY WERE NEVER IN THE PUMA HOME PAGE....I CANT REALY TELL YOU IF THEY WILL CHANGE SPONSOR BECAUSE IT IS IMPOSIBLE TO KNOW , WILL HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE WHAT THE KITS LOOK LIKE WHEN THY PLAY "QAULIFYING" FOR WORLD CUP.

Man, just looking at those Puma kits really shows that the Puma staff have never heard this word: ORIGINALITY

The shirts are just so...boring! Although I admit the material seems interesting....

About Uruguay: Maybe they scrapped Puma or maybe Puma is making something really special for them (but I doubt it)...it would be cool if Uruguay would land a deal with Nike...or maybe Umbro...

I DONT THINK NIKE WILL DO IT...I MEAN WE HAVENT EVEN QULIFIED FOR LAST WORLD CUP...BUT UMBRO WOULD BE NICE....WAACTUALLY HAVE IT IN BEACH SOCCER AND THEY ARE REALY NICE....CHECK IT OUT:

It looks like Iran are no longer in the Puma portfolio either, as this picture taken in a friendly against Hansa Rostock shows, they are once again wearing kits that look to me like Ali Daei's sportswear company, and yet another total rip-off of another design, in this case, Adidas...

I like most new Adidas kits, specially some of the MLS ones; France Home), the Puma ones are just lame appart the Italy Away IMO.

Nike depends a bit on the designs (Holland away)

btw England's shirt launch has been put back to 12.03.2008 (previously 05.02.2008) anyone know why ?

Since it doesn't coincidence with either the Swiss Game (06.02.2008) or the France Game (26.03.2008)

don't think so. football kits usually get finalised (design, concept wise way before) and the produced. for that I think this delay would be way to short.

Brazil have a blue away kit?! i'm in shock!

and what's the gold trim for? their woeful world cup campaign? their fall from the pinnacle of football? oh, it's for the copa america! well, then, ye, splash on the gold! they deserve it!

well, I reckon it's because the Swiss will want to wear red, so there's no point in releasing a red away kit just before the game if they're not going to wear it ... but they could wear it against France (who, ironically, also have a red away kit this time), so it is going to be released before that game ... and it also obviously has something has to do with the hit kit-sales are going to take as a result of England no qualifying for the EUROs ...

The gold/yellow trim is quite minimal as the shirt is based on the away shirt from the 1958 World Cup, where Brazil had to come up with a makeshift away shirt for the final match against the hosts Sweden, and as Brazil failed to bring an alternate kit other than the home kit with them, they hurriedly bought a set of plain blue shirts and sewn the badge and yellow numbers ready for the match.

You could argue, a 50th anniversary reminder of that first World Cup triumph.

Not necessarily the case - when England launched their new red away kit in 1999 in a friendly against Belgium, the Belgians, who normally wear red, played in white instead, so it was a case of "have the teams swapped colours?". It may happen in either of those friendlies, though I can't see it myself, particularly with the delay of the launch for, as yet, unknown "official" reasons.

I think the answer to that is "Puma are boring us to death with their boring nonense". I bet the top brass at Adidas are pissing themselves with laughter at their cross-town arch-rival's latest "minimalistic" designs.

I'm sure Albania wore Puma kits before they changed to Umbro, though I hope for your sake they don't go back to Puma again, you can already predict what the kit will look like..... erm, red shirt with black trim!

The problem with Puma is that they don't have a different template as compared to Nike and adidas. That's why they are boring. Their kits look like t-shirts which costs $5 except for that material, which I find fascinating.

Neither did Football Shirt Culture funnily enough, I think those two I posted were the only ones they haven't got featured on their site yet. Not that they're missing much, same pedestrian Puma design!

Anyhow as for the material I hope its a lot better than the v1.06 jerseys, which were about as breathable as clingfilm....... they were horrible and didn't drain the moisture too well, so many players in World Cup 2006 wearing Puma kits looked like they'd had a bucket of water chucked over them as they started sweating!! :-puke:

about the new Brazil away kit :

Damn, I was hoping for a more classic/retro color than this purple-ish blue. :(

And the yellow on the home shirt has been crappy especially since circa 2002 (shiny-light-whatever), although the 2006 one got slightly better. I want that darker-goldish tone (70s, 80s) back.
